MVPs for the Eagles are...

Shanahan for not calling a challenge or timeout on that 4th and 3 pass.

Josh Johnson for blanking on how to play QB with his fumble and freeze when trying to recover his own fumble in the pocket.

Officials for unloading flags on the 49ers defense and coming up with phantom calls on completed passes and running into the kicker.

Brock Purdy's ulnar nerve for taking taking the game off.

The 49ers front office for being straight negligent with the backup QB position makes the podium and takes home the bronze on this one. Josh Johnson. That was the best they could do for the backup?

Terrible game. The next one should be much better though. At least we get a slightly earlier 2nd rounder.

It's been a pretty bland playoffs so far. Not expecting anything to top the Chiefs/Bills game from last year but at least something worth paying attention to after halftime would be nice

Again.  You literally cannot throw punches towards someone even if you are going for the ball.

Goddamn, someone should tell Tillman that. He's been famed for an illegal play that's taught around the league - he'll be devastated.

This game kind of sells the point that Christian is a great player but isn't going to will your team to win. That's the job for a quarterback and maybe a pass-rusher. We need to find a quarterback.

Mixture of both. Dominant trenches QB and pass rush can get you to the big one. Only folks who are confused or focused on the wrong things are worried about a running back dominating for thirteen seasons or whatever fantasy was going on in this thread earlier.

    • I don't really care as much about athleticism and arm strength.  While Murray might be better in that regard, I think Bryce has enough of both to do well in the NFL. The main reason this trade reference is silly is the money and the fact that Murray has been around a long while and hasn't proven that he can perform consistently when the game is on the line.  Bryce has shown that he can play well in the clutch (in the few opportunities he has had).
    • If Bryce can continue the level of play he showed after the benching, then there's a good shot we at least compete to win the division. Tampa is a solid team but even last year in our week division they went 10-7 and will be on their 4th OC in as many years. The Saints are a mess and are in a mist of a half rebuild half still trying to compete mode and will probably be starting a rookie QB. The Falcons are a wild card as they have a really good offense but are we really crowning Michael Penix as a franchise QB after just 3 games?  The only thing I want out of this season is for Bryce to come out and without a shadow of a doubt prove he's our franchise QB. If that happens then most of the fanbase would be happy and I believe we'd be in a good place record wise at the end of the season. Maybe falling just short of winning the division with a chance to sneak in as a wild card team.
