Stroud plus this current roster can win the division next year. I think at WORST Stroud is a solid starter in the league, and he looks like he will put in the work to improve every year. If you tell me im giving up 3 first rounders for a guy that will be a stable QB in the league for the next 9 to 10 years then im not really worried at all about doing it. Who cares who gets upset, people have just gotten use to not having a difference maker at QB or they are scared about being the team willing to take the risk more than anybody else.

Given that most rookie qbs struggle including supposed sure fire guys like Lawrence, there is no need to find a rookie qb who has to start day 1.  So the question is whether it is better value to try and develop a guy like Richardson over a season or two who could play as well as a guy like Stroud who looks more  NFL ready and might play sooner.play right now. Is the better value picking a Richardson who might be there at nine versus mortgaging the bank for Stroud by moving up to one or two.  If you are not convinced you have to have Stroud you could jump in with Richardson and still have your first next year in case that crop looks better than this one.  You can't  go all in just because you are tired of not having a franchise guy.

Levis is already 4 out of 4 for me, but now he's not playing in the Senior Bowl either. 

I understand the Bowl game more than a post-season game primarily made to raise your draft stock. Dude had an underwhelming year and is already considered older than most draftees. He needs every opportunity to improve on a rough, rough year.

I might be confused but that looks like using 2 1sts in '23 and '24 to get a QB anyway? 

I've seen others say to draft AR and sit him until next year...but does that mean that he's better than Maye/Williams? Otherwise, if he's not playing until next year, why not draft one of Maye/Williams next year, who you'd probably start. All three guys are first year starters in this scenario.

So maybe just use the '24 1st to go get the QB you want this year instead of hoping he falls, or use this year's first on BPA (or trade down) and use next year's 1st on a QB.

Honestly, if AR is our target if we stand pat at 9, we likely will have to move up to get him.  I've always said, generally, with QBs, if they're projected at a certain spot before the pre-draft process, they usually get pushed up a lot more by the time the process is over due to demand and it being the most coveted position to fill in football. We may have to move up into the Top 5 even for AR, especially if he performs well at the combine.

I'm all for taking a 1st round QB but I think there's a lesson in some of the big moves that have failed: Trubisky and Lance for example. 

Let's see who's left at 9 rather than trade a bunch of 1s and 2s.  It can happen: Allen at 7, Mahomes at 10, Lamar at 32.  Winning teams that waited.

Those teams traded up for the 3 qbs you listed

Just because you still have your first next year doesn't mean you have to get another quarterback with it but the point is you could if for whatever reason you felt Richardson wasn't the one or like Gruden, Reich starts collecting quarterbacks. Everything I see suggests that Richardson has the athleticism and arm of a great qb. But Reich said his players had to have good fundamentals and accelerated vision. I heard he maybe be erratic in his fundamentals and his decision making was suspect.

      Same, bro.  Yeah, it just feels it has run its course and I don’t know that we’ll ever get more value.  Plus, with the new ownership, this draft has been super encouraging, so dare I believe maybe this FO can get something to really put us over the top in return for Melo.  I’ll still be a fan of his game and try to keep up with him if we move on, but yeah, I feel it’s time to turn the page. (and side note: I felt so happy after their rookie years because I told everybody I wanted Melo and didn’t trust Ant.  And Melo clearly looked like the better player early…  I thought Ant would bust because all that stuff he said about not loving the game and just his resume to that point…  but damn, if we could go back in time.🤣🤣🤣. I love Ant’s game and at times, when he gets in the zone, he is THE BEST player in the league in my opinion.)

      Appreciate that, bro!  And I could definitely see that with Cam.  Even though he’s a little younger than me, he is also someone I admire and feel a kinship with for a lot of various reasons. Funny enough, a few years after that encounter with Steve, I went to Charlotte with one of my friends whose brothers owned a moving company at the time.  He dropped me off uptown and went to work the day with them where I would wait until he got done and then we were gonna go to the Bobcats game that night.  So I walk all through that area for hours.  After awhile, I walk back towards the arena and sit in a bench on the backside of the arena, where the practice court and player’s entrance was.  As I’m sitting there, I look up and almost think I’m seeing things - I squint and blink my eyes a couple times just to be sure, and yes…  it’s one of my childhood heroes, Muggsy Bogues walking across the crosswalk and into the arena.  I think he was coaching the Sting then, iirc.  Part of me wanted to just say, “Hey!  Muggsy!  Thank you for the inspiration and memories!  You were one of my favorite players as a kid!”  But, I just watched him walk by and into the arena and thought, “that was cool!”  I also so Miguel Cotto a couple years back while in Orlando and told my kids who it was but didn’t say anything to him.  I think somewhere in my subconscious, that encounter with Steve really made me feel like the gamble on finding out if they’re receptive to interaction just isn’t worth finding out.  At the end of the day, no matter if they’re receptive inspired us or were a hero, unless they initiate it, I likely never will…  because again, they’re humans just like us.  Not anymore unique or special, they just have a highly visible and very public job that we get to watch and in some ways participate.  So, I just appreciate it for what it is.

      I'm pleasantly surprised they gave it to Bryce Young over Josh Allen. Finally we're getting some respect. Now I'm just hoping the team follows this up accordingly and doesn't lay another egg.
