Ugh, was just looking at that new rule, he might be TOO good of a hire for us to take advantage of it lol.

The coach needs to be a DC/OC for you for 2 years before getting a HC job for you to get the draft picks, so if he gets an HC job next year, we get nothing unfortunately.

Can't we sign him for a 2 year deal and not give him permission to interview?  Though it would probably cause a riff.

No way you can prevent a coach from being able to interview for a "better" position, and even if you could you would never even bring it up when you are trying to land the best DC available in Evero.

This is a GREAT get for the Panthers!

Hope springs eternal!

One of the big positives that led Evero to taking this job was apparently the ability to build his own staff on the defensive side of the ball. I wouldn't be surprised to see some folks from Denver join him. Also given Capers was a senior defensive assistant on Denver's staff last season and his ties to the franchise, wouldn't be surprised to see him come back here in that same role.

We have alot of exciting young talent on this team, defensively.  I would assume he is going to have alot of fun utilizing them.

If we somehow get the QB position straight we might actually be a team to talk about next season.  Pull a 2021 Cincinnati.  Worst to First.

No more getting carved up by the Trubisky's of the world. Those guys are supposed to be folding under pressure, not dinking and dunking on a prevent defense in the 1st quarter

Still can’t believe we lost to a Trubisky-led Steelers at home. But I digress - happier times ahead!

Not to be a Debbie downer but the Broncos did get beat by a Mayfield led offense badly . 2 passing TD’s, 3 more rushing and 3 FG’s. 44 total offensive points.

We also beat them with Darnold at the helm last year too!

I have read multiple articles and seen just about every interview and press conference featuring Evero. There’s certainly reasons to be excited and the fact that he was interviewed for every H.C opening counts for something.

I’m very hopeful that games like that were more of a reflection of the broncos lack of talent on defense, more so than on his coaching or play calling.

Or offensive schemes, or...well, anything 😕

Tepper hires the coaches, does he not? Tepper owns the team, right? Yes and yes? Then yeah, he does have some input in the schemes being run. If the team feels like it can work, great. I just don't see how you plug the holes you've now created on defense and reserve the possibility to trade up and get a QB, as has been suspected here.

You're likely going to have to go with Richardson, which I'm cool with. But then you're taking a 0 tech, a 3 tech 3-4 type end, and probably another edge rusher who can set the edge on the first two downs. Whereas if you stuck with a 4-3 you're taking BPA.

So this is a lot bigger deal than people here are understanding. Perhaps the blinders will come off in September. Or maybe you guys don't remember 2019 when we were changing back to a 3-4 scheme.

I see you didn’t watch Denver and Russell W this year he was he threw three picks that game and the backup qb played threw another pick. You want your defense to pitch a shut out with four different change of possession plays. That’s just one game Russell did that all year to his team and the D held it down.

Per Albert Breer, when the time came to take a poll among the search committee on who was the preferred head coach candidate, Tepper abstained; specifically because he didn't want to influence anybody else's vote.

So no, It's not...

I didn’t watch it. I’m just stating facts.

The Rams offense put 44 points, 388 yard of offense, 14 passing 1st downs. Over 9 total drives.

They also had drives that included going ,60,75 and 90 yards for TD’s

Plus 60 and 68 yard drives for FG’s.

Thats still 27 points where they earned all of it.

1 of those 4 picks you mentioned was returned for a TD, so did nothing for field position to help the rams, another was a touchback.

The other 17 of the 44 points that offense put up on them were still earned and saw next to 0 resistance by the broncos Defense.

    • Went to school in MD when this came out. Dance floor got CRAZY when this joint came on!
    • They had best show out in Week 1 there are zero,I mean zero,  excuses for that offense  defense, haven’t play together yet and they still have Mr Soft and Predictable as DC  I expect break downs at times  …but that offense returns all starters except Tremble and both Mayes and Brady are veterans and can play LG and know the system not up for any participation awards this season they can save that practice energy for Jacksonville.     I’m sick of the, winning,  or looking competitive, when it doesn’t matter.
    • There are some tough decisions that I'm eager to see the results of... Does Blackshear sneak on to the roster as RB4? Does the team go with 4 TEs or just 3 again? And has Mitchell Evans done enough to defend his roster spot from James Mitchell? Who is WR6 and is there a WR7? TMac, XL, Coker, and AT seem to be locks imo and I'm assuming Renfrow also makes it due to all of the camp praise. Who makes it between Brycen Tremayne, Jimmy Horn Jr, and David Moore? If the team goes with 7 WRs, which one of those three doesn't make it? Jacolby George and Emani Bailey both have not gotten a lot of game time. Could the Panthers be trying to hide them so that they can be stashed on the PS? Do they go with 10 OL instead of 9? Who makes it out of Walton, Carter, and Kingston? DL locks are DB, BB3, ARob, and Turk. That leaves Jaden Crumedy, Cam Jackson, Sam Roberts, Shy Tuttle, and LaBryan Ray all competing for the final 1 - 3 spots. Does DJ Johnson get IR'd and Thomas Incoom make the roster as EDGE5? What in the fuuuuuuuuuuuuck is going to happen at LB? Only locks seem to be Wallace, Rozeboom, and Cherelus (Wallace has mentioned in media how Cherelus has been big bro for him on the team). Rhattigan had some good moments against Houston, Martin-Scott is an SC guy, Krys Barnes has popped on defense and on special teams, and Windmon got time starting for the team last season. Are two of those guys going to make it or are the Panthers poaching from another team's cuts? CB5... who is it? Do they go with the 4 expected safeties or bring in a 5th? Has Ransom done enough to take the start from Nick Scott?
