Brentson Buckner on our new WR coach

Brentson Buckner is a good Friend of the guys on the morning WFNZ show.  He used to go on there a lot.

He coached with Jefferson in Arizona.  And txtd the guys at WFNZ that Jefferson is the best hire out of all these guys we’ve hired.

Compared him to Richard Williamson who coach the WRs here from 1995 to 2009.  Williamson coached up guys like Smitty and Moose.

Good, maybe he will light a fire under Moore's butt and get the most out of TMJ/Shi Smith.  Moore is so frustrating.  He just meanders throughout the season and teases us with a superb game sprinkled in here and there while going nearly unnoticed in many others.

Moore, by cost, should be our star player right now.

And I've said for years, if your star player is a WR, you've got major issues. They cost too much, they don't touch the ball on every play and if they become unmotivated or just feel not as competitive, it will wreck your gameplan. Or one good DB can ruin it for you.

Could that have anything to do with the QB carousel, coaching changes, college offense, and terrible offensive line his first few years? I'm just asking for a friend who doesn't move the goalposts.

Hard to do that with the QB carousel we’ve had since he’s been here. It’s a miracle he’s performed as well as he has.

That could be and he could be more consistent too.

That's going to happen when you have XFL Qbs throwing you passes.

Yea but unfortunately just that one pass doesn't average out very well over the course of a 17 game season

Exactly. He had low production games scattered throughout the season among 3 different QBs

    • well i could go on & on but i will just highlight it by saying big difference trust me from the SEC & NFL.it's honestly like comparing apples & oranges especially when you are talking about a  LT. in the NFL you are going up against the most athletic freaks of nature the world has to offer . .the NFL also has much more exotic & complicated defensive schemes than what they are used to seeing at Georgis &  finally but most importantly you have to learn how to master complex bio mechanics where the body kick steps instantly as a reaction to these world class athletes rush without really making a conscious effort it's more of a learned muscle memory  & it can take thousands upon thousands of reps to master rproper technique for a LT in the NFL especially if you are still very raw like Monroe Freeling is    ...just saying
    • All that being the case or maybe being the case, we do not know Wharton’s timetable n the first place. They are being coy about it. Or maybe not. They say week to week the board says he is terminal lol and must be replaced. Who knows? It may or may not warrant a fairly drastic solution.  Walker is a bargain and we are not well stocked at OL despite recent investments. Freeling has yet to have a single padded practice. Too much speculation driving this plan IMO.
    • I would really love to know who’s actually making these moves because it’s weirdly vague who’s doing the hiring and firing.
