REPORT: Panthers have significant interest in WR Paris Campbell

Don't really want Campbell, feels like the interest is more based on Reich's connection to him than his actual skill.

At this point, I'm hoping we trade for a WR, not much great left out there in FA and we need someone who can be a #1 for the rookie.

Go get Hopkins, Sutton, Jeudy, Cooks, or someone similar to them.

Prob be cheap and he ran a 4.3 40.  Fast as heck.  Decent production also.

Yes--if you are going after bargains, there has to be more risk.  That is how you get a good deal--invest in the player, he gets healthy, and you have a quality player.

Chark, Hardman, Landry, and Beckham....

Chark’s got the best size/speed/age ratio 6’4/4.3/26…he’s gone over 1000 yds once. Just seems like most upside and shouldn’t break the bank. Just seems like he could potentially explode with right situation and QB

Really thought they'd show some urgency picking up some WRs considering DJ is gone 🤔  odd

How might they show this urgency you speak of? It seems to me they are talking to available FA guys right now. If you mean trading for someone then you will not hear about it until the terms are agreed to. Until that happens mums the word.

I bet ted can roll out of bed and still run a 4.44...

Hope panther land some vet to fill the WR role.......

I think they need a vet and a rookie.

Their lack of urgency suggests that is their plan--or they are waiting for a contract to drop---are they negotiating with Odell?

And I would not trade for a headache or problem when I can sign a free agent and get a headache or a problem for free.

I think they need a solid/legit vet #2 and couple hail marys vet attempts(dumpster dives or future late rounders type) and use either the 2nd or first 3rd on WR and hope hes ready by some miracle....

I dont think many have grasped the current RB and WR issues with having a rookie QB........im terrifed that 2024 could be thee number "one"....

Hurst was a step in the right direction...

I think the current plan is to run the ball 50 times. hurst and thomas feel like starters too.

I dont think odell wants to join the rookie lead non-media attention panthers, but it would sure help. Just to further stir the pot, i think jets send a couple WRs to green bay as part of the arod trade and obj is back in the big apple.....

    • By all indications, the surgery was "minor." I know with all surgeries and especially back surgery there can be complications, but I think the whole time Tremble did this with the expectation he would be able to be back for Week 1 It sounds like he will be ready to start back in team drills next week. He's a veteran who knows the system so I'm sure that helps. I still can't imagine he will play a normal workload early on though
    • Maybe. He was pretty good in college before a bad injury. He had a good preseason last year as a UDFA in Washington and was on their practice squad all year so they obviously saw something worth developing. He signed a futures deal with the Panthers earlier this year, and everything about him has been increasingly positive. Tremayne has gotten a decent amount of time with the ones, and a lot with the twos for someone that doesn't have a chance. He's the only other 6'4" plus WR on the team, plays ST, and is a more natural backup to the X receiver position than David Moore. That was my thinking behind it. But he may well end up as one of the last roster cuts. If so, I do hope they can bring him back to the PS. But I personally think there's a good chance he could be claimed given his ST ability and what hes shown at WR.
    • That was my thought originally, but so many of the beat writers have mentioned keeping 7 WRs in conversations that I went with that, at least for the purposes of this projection. But you're right that historically defensive guys who were standouts at ST have tradionally gotten those last spots
