Concerning Chark, I think its down to Detroit and Carolina.  If we offer $10m per, we outbid Detroit, the way understand it (according to Detroit media).

Yeah, I mean....I really want Chark but I would be a little concerned about $10 mil unless it was a deal with an early out.

I like everything about D.J. Chark but admit his injury history bothers me.

I wonder how big a  concern it is to the Panthers and how it affects the amount they are willing to pay him?

Could be, seems like it's mainly the right ankle he has recurring issues with

He did come off IR and finish the season last year so that's a good sign. It's not like he needed another surgery or anything

Hopefully, the Panthers do a lot of research on his injuries. The last thing they need to do is tie up money in a player that stays on injuried reserve.

I would think an incentive based contract would be necessary for Chark. You play this percentage of games, you get the full amount. I’m not sure how it all works, but it seems if he’s wanting other teams to bet on him, he should also bet on himself to stay healthy.

I posted in the wrong thread: according to Rapsheet trade talks for Hopkins are eating up. Cooks compensation should be a similar offer for Hopkins.

I've seen a couple of analysts say the relatively low compensation The Cowboys had to give up for Cooks was going to make it harder for the Cardinals to get a great package in return for Hopkins.

The problem with Hopkins isn't what we trade, since we've shown under Fitt that we will trade for anyone. The problem is working his salary into our budget.

If the saints can sign carr after being in negative cap and with out huge amount of space next year, I think we could figure out a way to get him. But maybe it’s him not wanting to rework and push some salary out?

We also need to get faster at the WR position.  Hurst (TE I know), Theilen, TMJ

    • Sure, but if that happens, the draft pick will look even worse for the Falcons, as instead of getting them a player that could win now, they took someone who ran off their prize FA QB after 3 years and now looks like they may be a bust. Penix was one of the more polished QB's in the draft and would have probably been a rookie starter if taken by someone with an uncertain starting QB, if he's not ready to step in and play well in year 3, then it's probably not going to work out. So the only way it helps their contract situation, is if it doesn't work out as they plan, but if it does, they're going to cut Cousins after 2 years and then have to give Penix a monster deal the following offseason.
