I've said for a long time now that if we think AR has it in him for us to mold him into a great NFL QB then he should be the pick. He might be the most talented QB prospect ever.

I agree. They have their choice so take the guy this all-star staff can make the most out of. If he only reaches half of that potential AR would be one hell of a qb. It's a lot to think about.

They definitely like Richardson, but that seems like if they trade down to three for whatever reason. Conviction on all three guys wasn't a lie.

I mean if you would take at 3 why not at 1? It's no different.  A franchise qb is worth that measly difference.

I think they love the idea of AR. So do I.

They need to fall in love with more than an idea, though.

It really would be a disappointment if they picked him at 1 or even 2. I mean a serious let down. Not as bad as if it were Levis, but still it just wouldn't seem like a very grounded decision.

Because Bryce Young is the better quarterback and a more sure fire thing. Don't get me wrong, I love AR, but I would never take him over Young.

I'll never get the "his ceiling is the highest" BS on AR. His passing accuracy is average right now, his footwork is average right now, his experience is below average right now. He can run it like crazy, yes. He has a huge arm, yes. He is in freak shape, yes. But none of that makes a great QB. Right now his ceiling is hoping he can even be as good as Young and Stroud are today. And if he will get better, they will too. His ceiling has zero to do with his QB skills. Just his athleticism. It's like signing a young LeBron James away from the NBA and trying to get him to be a star QB. It's insane. Young has a MUCH higher ceiling if you can just put some weight on him which is asking much less than with AR. Helping Stroud outside of the pocket is harder, but still much easier than teaching AR how to be an accurate QB. QBs throw it first and foremost, and Young and Stroud will always ... always be better than AR at that.

Feel like if we draft AR all this hype will end with a wet fart.
Not saying AR can’t be successful. Just find it weird that we trade up to 1 only to draft a player that may of been there at 9.
A player that won’t be able to start for a long time. We are talking 1 to 2 seasons. If he is ever ready.

If they are seriously considering AR at 1 makes me wonder if they think he can start this season.
I can not remember a team taking a project QB at 1 ever.
AR may not be ready to start for a season or 2.
Lance was taken at 3 but I think if Jimmy G wasn’t there he would have started his rookie year.
Also do Panthers fans want to watch Dalton for maybe 1 or 2 seasons and waste even more of our core defensive and O-line players prime, potentially

    • I used to think Juan was a Zod alt. Agree he's a great poster.
    • Hawks said nah we good and sent him to the shadow realm aka the Wizards. Cold blooded. I mean they're 2-2 in a series with a young up and coming Knicks team largely through 34 year old CJ McCollum. Even if they ultimately lose the series at least they are there and have something to build on. I think Hornets fans are just beaten down and lack the objectivity to assess the situation. They think we are going to get so much worse if and when we finally change gears. Worse how? We've already been a lottery team for years now. We've already been looking to win our first playoff series in about a quarter century. We already can't get past the play in and in failing to do so we have completely embarrassed ourselves twice looking like we don't even belong. Honestly there is absolutely no excuse for a team like the Magic to be more competitive and successful than us in the playoffs. Absolutely disgusting. But that's just me. I was fuging lit when we got the Hornets back in Charlotte but that is old old news. It's time for these boys to get into a playoff series. Enough is enough. If they can't do it for 2026-27 then they need to make wholesale changes regardless.
    • Not one single pick that is asking me why we drafted a guy in the first place. It was a guy we needed and/or a guy that had certain traits making them stand out. Best of all, I feel everyone we drafted are capable of stepping onto the field this year and have a meaningful role (even Kuwatch on special teams). Obviously, nothing is guaranteed but I'm not seeing any huge flags on guys because they're risky projects or massive overreaches.
