Im curious:

what's the biggest knock about him,  accuracy issues, processing?

Accuracy and lack of experience primarily. He played all of 12 games or so at Florida and didn't throw all that amazingly. His accuracy issues don't seem to be correctible like Allen's were based on his poor footwork. He just misses randomly.

He does seem to read the field well and navigates the pocket better than anyone in the draft save for Young, He is a legitimate running threat at the next level as he is built like Cam but even faster, plus the howitzer attached to his right shoulder make him intriguing.

But overall lack of experience and accuracy issues make him a huge risk.

hmmm... interesting.

I would be more concerned with accuracy issues than experience imo.

Also, I just read an article that AR (like Levis) had a similar situation in terms of a poor supporting cast.  However, I don't buy into that being a contributing factor of less-than-stellar accuracy.

I absolutely love this guy's physical traits.  I would be more surprised than upset if we pick him.

Eh, the cast might have had something to do with some of AR's accuracy issues. This was their week 13 injury report:

  • WR Ricky Pearsall (upper body) - questionable
  • WR Justin Shorter (lower body) - out
  • WR Marcus Burke (upper body) - out
  • WR Thai Chiaokhiao-Bowman (upper body) - out
  • WR Xzavier Henderson (lower body) - out
  • WR Ja'Quavion Fraziars (upper body) - out
  • TE Keon Zipperer (lower body) - questionable
  • CB Devin Moore (upper body) - out
  • LS Marco Ortiz (upper body) - out

Five or six scholarship WRs missed that game and their top guys missed more games than that one. It's had to get in sync with guys you hadn't practiced with much, if any at all.

Writers get paid to write.  And if you put something like this out there 3 weeks before the draft, people will forget about it.  However, if for some reason we draft AR, this writer gets immediate street cred.

Would a new coach who is building a roster to compete right now want a project?  If he likes the skill set, and we have a ton of cap room, why not pursue L.Jackson?  No--I doubt a new coach would join a franchise and go out on a limb like this--

    • I am literally too stupid to understand advanced metrics and it makes watching sports sooooo much easier.
    • I am not sure it should be a ‘sell out to go to the SB’ season. And hope they don’t think that.  At the same time I was thinking you absolutely must find out if you want to pay for Bryce or not. That means putting it on him. No protecting and trying to hide weaknesses with the run game and super conservative calls.  So I wish they would do it and find out, win or lose, 2026. No more developing. Time to do it. Let’s see once and for all.
    • My biggest fear with Bryce Young is that he will always do just enough to stick around. He shows flashes and then drops a turd so the hopium is always there. Like his career highlight reel if you cut it up to some hype music and did a YouTube video would actually be quite good. His great plays really, really look good. But after that video you look at his yearly averages for completion percentage, yardage, touchdowns, and virtually every other metric and it is meh as fug. Like you know Bryce is gonna be 13/23 for 157 yards a touchdown and probably a pick.  I will 100% give him his flowers for his athleticism and ability to scramble outside the pocket. I haven’t seen the mythical “super processing ability” he was touted for per se, but he has shown flashes of absolutely elite awareness when it comes to scrambling. The little basketball move he does to shake defensive linemen has almost become a signature move. It’s hard to explain but you know it when you see it he stops on a dime and pivots like he is gonna hit a step back jumper and it has gotten him out of a lot of trouble.  I sincerely, truly, as a vocal Bryce HATER, hope that since we are obviously running with him next year the coaching staff actually tailors plays around his strengths. He needs to be in a pure spread IMO. His size is much less of a hindrance when he can play QB in open space. I feel like most of his highlight reel is from scrambles and play action/bootlegs.
