The vast majority of beat writers, analysts and gambling sites got the #1 pick wrong last year.

And it's not the first time.

Last year was a unique year in terms of how bad the draft was at the top. Even still we knew almost a week before the draft it was likely Travon

Yeah any WR or TE would be perfect for pick 39.

I really think Zay Flowers will be special though. His route running and ability to make people miss in open space he reminds me of a young Antonio Brown. He's the guy I want the most.

I wouldn't complain with Zay at 39.  I don't want to trade up for him though.

The question is what is decent compensation?

I just don't think a 2nd is worth it.   The gap (whether height or pressured play) is just too big between the two for my tastes.  We gave up a second, next year's 1st and DJ.  The position is just too important.

For me, it would take next years  1st and there is no way Houston is going to do  that.

We should just take the best QB.

I've long said the only way I'm even picking up the phone from the Texans is if it begins with #2 and #12, then the discussion is whether it's also this year's 2nd or next year's 1st coming along in the trade.

If they want to jump us to draft the QB of their choice before we do, they have to pay thru the freaking nose.

I also really only do that if the team is confident that the Texans are taking the player we wouldn't have been taking anyways.  The position is too important to not take your #1 guy on the board, even if getting additional assets out of it, making the right pick is more important.

    • FLA showed everyone it’s not about superstars. they bullied the best line in the NHL into obscurity. they played hard, were in the right positions, and ran over everything that got in their way.
    • That’s really not what you said and when I even expressed doubt as to your intentions with the post you doubled down and remained unclear on whether you were trying to drag Dean Smith for whatever reason. You just got the facts wrong, which if you don’t follow the local college programs like you say then maybe you just were mistaken and thought Smith didn’t win championships or have legit superstars, and that is ok, but you just doubled down when my first post was more corrective than anything. I’m not sure what you expect posting objectively false things like “RBA has a lot of wins with nothing to show for it like Dean Smith” (paraphrasing) on a message board with plenty of UNC fans. I’m not taking it as a personal affront, we can agree to disagree, Dean Smith’s legacy fortunately will not be affected by this conversation. Screw the (Florida) Panthers?
    • Bring in the free agents and trades.  Florida is the best team and unless Tulsky makes it happen, it’s more of the same…which isn’t bad…but it’s time to win a goddamn cup.
