Yeah like I said before the only way it happens is if the Texans fall in love with Young and offer something stupid.  I don't see it happening though.  We would also have Stroud rated very highly in this scenario.

At some point, they will make an offer. It may be when we are on the clock, but it's coming. The question is, do we take it.

I hate seeing this narrative that the Teppers are making the pick if it’s Young.

That goes completely against what we’ve been told. Yes, it will be a collaborative effort, but ultimately Reich and Fitt will be making the decision.

I feel like posters are pinning it on Tepper bc, if Bryce is the pick, they can’t deal with the fact that our veteran coaching staff prefers him over their guy. It would have to be owner influence instead of those posters poorly evaluating the best QB in the draft <eye roll>.

They are blaming it on Tepper because they are refusing to admit to themselves that actual football people might think Young is a better prospect than Stroud because they dont want to be wrong.

2009 Rams - 1-15

2010 Panthers - 2-14

2012 Colts - 2-14

2012 Bills - 6-10 (this was a super weak QB draft--Geno Smith and Mike Glennon went after)

2013 Jags - 4-12

2014 Bucs - 2-14

2015 Rams - 7-9 (traded up)

2016 Bears - 3-13

2017 Browns - 0-16

2018 Cardinals - 3-13

The context here that most rookie QBs go into terrible rosters with unproven coaches here is relevant.  The 2015 Rams would seemingly be a more fair comparison, but with Jeff Fisher, they traded up to get Goff and then started Case Keenum for the first 9 games of the season, then Fisher got fired midway thru Goff starting 0-7.

We are truly in a pretty unique situation.  I at least think it's plenty arguable that half of those QBs (as rookies) could be inserted onto this team with this staff and make the playoffs.

All you Youngsters may get your way. I hope you don’t regret it a few years from now. Many analysts believe that Stroud is a better fit for the Panthers and has a higher ceiling, even those who think Young is better right now. We will see. I think we will all be pulling for whomever gets picked and hope he is an All-Pro.

I think Young has a much higher ceiling while Stroud has a much higher floor.

I'll be excited if its Stroud. Why all the negativity? We either get the best QB in the draft or we get a QB who throws one of the most beautiful balls I've ever seen. Exiting times for the Franchise.

So the best qb doesn't throw the most beautiful ball then....how is he the best? What makes him better arm, or wait he took a test and did good

    • Mel Kiper said he would retire if Jimmy Clausen wasn't a successful NFL starter too. Just because the experts make a claim doesnt mean it's true either.  Bryce may be a serviceable QB for someone. Serviceable QBs don't bring you a perennial winner or lead you to the playoffs over and over. Serviceable QBs also dont get 50m plus per year deals which is what a Bryce extension would look like.  The stats show he hasn't been even a serviceable QB in the 3 years he's been here. The eye test shows he hasn't put together 2 franchise QB salary games back to back in 3 years.  Complain all you want about people being negative, but people pointing out that Bryce is held to a different standard than anyone else on the team isn't complaining. It's stating the obvious.
    • We have big bodied WRs and 3 TEs who all have potential and each bring something different to the table. I never saw the need to go out there and try and find a new starting TE.  While it's nice to have a guy like McBride, Bowers, etc, I think a team's better use of the cap is by having TEs on rookie contracts or cheap vets, not having to pay elite TE money.
    • He had the award until like the last 8 games. He sucked ass and flagg had 3 40 point games
