Panthers sign wide receiver Damiere Byrd

Can’t complain. He is a vet now, been around some different coaches and QBs, and should be a better version than what was here before.

And we would have to be exceedingly lucky to be able to draft a WR who could make an impact as a rook, where we will be picking. Because of that, I don’t see it as a high draft priority. Get someone at a different position that can come in and help their first year. Edge, TE maybe?

about the same, little slower, but better routes.....typical aged jaggy player.

My view is him at KR or PK...oooo and he lit up the pantgghers either last yr or the year before.

Hes still a solid 5 type of option.

He can contribute more as a returner than Andre roberts or Erickson did under the last staff. Those guys were useless as receiver depth. Thomas Brown was a returner so I wouldn't be surprised if he wanted something that could work better for him and Tabor equally. Shi probably shouldn't be back there except injury emergencies, especially punts

Seeing how easily he torched us last year and helped keep us out of the playoffs why not give him a flier. He'll if he can play his role and be used situationally he's honestly not a bad WR at all.

Is this not the same logic that got Chubba drafted? MrsRhule said get him cause he ran all over you?

Fecesiality aside, I liked Byrd when he was here, showed lots of promise back then, hope he learned a few thing in NE & ATL… show up here, now…

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
