He ran a 4.7. Jason Witten ran a 4.65.  Todd Heap ran a 4.68. Those are the comps for me. Guys that don't wow you on tape with any individual play. They're average athletes with no real highlights they just block well, get open, and catch balls. Over and over and over again.

Yeah it's tough to scout. I like him over the Kuntz style awkward tall guys that can only catch and suck at blocking, but I dunno if he'd be head and shoulders above Hurst or Tremble

Very possible. The draft is always a crap shoot. Steals and busts every draft and every draft would look a lot different if it could be done in retrospect.

Not knocking your opinion, plenty have him one, once you dig in you can see he is slow and a bit unathletic. Tall order for the NFL. Best of luck to him. Not sure if he can separate from linebackers. My thoughts, Hopefully wrong.

Gotta trade up for Mayer or Washington at this point. Otherwise why did we draft Young?

Thielen/Chark is just not enough for a rookie QB. Guys like Herbert/Burrow have 2 #1 WR's for goodness sake.

I disagree. No trade up is needed. TE is deep. There are also WRs we can get later also. I doubt Washington will be gone (hell, he may last to three). We also picked up Hurst and have TMJ. Let the draft come to you, unless Mayer is somehow available tomorrow.

    • I’ve said it in the past that this team has found brief runs of success this season off of a player or few that decides to turn God mode on for the day. Yesterday Chuba looked like the stud many forgot he was last season. Mike Jack ball hawked a pick 6 to the house? WTF? Derrick m-fin Brown.  Does anyone remember the last time a Panthers lineman closed out a big game? That play was classic Jenkins.  Coker is a stud (we are VERY fortunate to have him). Tet is a stud. Brown is a stud. Rico is a stud. Ickey is a stud. The O line continues to play much better than they rightfully should be. The depth players by and large have been refreshingly competent.  If they would have just played Panthers brand football all season they would probably have 9 wins but it is what it is. I think Bryce is far more comfortable in the game manager role, which for now is ‘ok’… for now. A team that can run the ball at will and has an opportunistic defense is a tough out for anybody, home or away.
    • True. But that elevation gain is no joke on the lungs.
    • Take away Bryce's two 4th and short passes and the screen to Chuba and what are you left with on fhe passing game? See how it goes when you selectively eliminate the three best plays? We caught lightning in a bottle yesterday on both sides of the ball. The D was overall not good but had three great plays forcing turnovers taking one back for a TD. The offensive passing game overall was not good but had three big plays resulting in TDs.
