Not a good look by any means but I am curious what was said to initiate that. Anywho that's why you don't have random fans on the field with players. I hope this guy has a good career for us. Knowing my Panthers it could go either way. We'll see.

Why the fug are fans on the field antagonizing players after a game in the first place?

You watch college football? Fans take the field after rivalry games and or big wins.  Common occurrence that everyone deals with.   Hell, Clemson fans take the field after every single home game win or lose.

Literally every player in the draft dealt with it their entire college career.

Yeah, this ones a bit of a head scratcher.  He is big and fast, but he's a 24 year old project with  some degree of a self control problem. He was clearly misused,  playing both ways.  Looks like a bit of a panic pick after other talent was pulled from the board.  Not sure why other talent on the board couldn't set the edge, but apparently its so important Evero even mentions it in the call.

Overall feels like theres a bit more urgency this year in this years draft, from the top pick on down.  Quite a contrast from trading down in 2021 and watching the QB's fall in 2022.

Yeah I know teams do it, SEC is thinking of taking away wins or 6 figure fines if the school lets it happen

DE/Edge Rusher D.J. Johnson has tremendous upside and NFL type Talent but needs some technical polish and the Panthers have formed a good coaching staff that should be able to make that happen..

D.J. Johnson  showed off an impressive combination of strength and speed by hitting 28 reps on the bench press and running a sub-4.5-second 40-yard dash time at the NFL Combine, but his technique is still a work in progress as a defensive lineman, especially as a pass-rusher.

Johnson is still learning how to use his hands when rushing the passer and lacks a go-to move that he'll be able to win with at the next level. However, he is strong and physical at the point of attack as a run defender and showed flashes with his bull rush.

He is a versatile edge who can play in either even or odd fronts. He will take some time to develop, he is still new to the position which gives him more upside.

Don't we already have this guy on the roster in Barno? Would've been super stoked to have BY, Mingo, Washington and our new guard with 2 more picks to go.

Barno is a speed rusher with work needed against the run, this is a bull style power rusher strong in run defense.  Very different.

    • Basically agree.  He is the one of that bunch that offers upgraded pass catching along with he is supposed to be kind of special.   Then you have the OL and the ideas that if they perform you can have JAG backs and still do well. So okay we could be fine.  But Brooks is important and to me that receiving element sets him apart.  So there sure is something riding on him.     What strikes me as incongruent is people over in Atlanta or those that follow them look at Penix with a third surgery and act like it is no big deal.      And we are on pins and needles over Brooks.  Either they should worry a lot more or we should worry a lot less.
    • I usually go a game or two optimist over the consensus here but this is too early for me to say. I need to see some players on the field.  I am not feeling real optimistic though.
    • Okay as a ‘take CJ’ fan I actually don’t obsess over CJ and Houston, contrary to the narrative.  But I thought I picked up some noise that his OL left a lot to be desired.    Not a single Beyce supporter would judge him harshly if he had a crappy OL. We all know that.    So be fair about it.  A QB needs to be protected.  Especially a guy that gets to his spot and wants to finish the play from there. Which CJ is.
