I think the Panthers will find it hard to pass on a big CB---

Kelee Ringo, Georgia (6’ 2”)

Darius Rush,  South Carolina (6’2”)

Clark Phillips III Utah (5’ 9” the exception but he is pretty solid)

Corey Trice, Purdue (6’3”)

Terell Smith, Minnesota (6’1”)

Can't remember who said it but saw a statement that essentially said Day 3 is when you find out how good your scouts are.

(or aren't) 😕

Fitt did mention last night that UDFA is a big time for the scouts. At least we'll be getting a big head start on recruiting the 20 or so guys, hopefully right around 7 pm we'll get a rush of names of random guys we've never heard of

I personally think hitting on any pick at this point is like winning some sort of lottery.

Now is not the time to try and fill needs, that time has passed as you can’t reasonably expect anyone outside the top 100 to be an immediate impact player.

That being said solid depth players that you can groom would be good to find here.

Whatever we end up with here I’m good with unless it’s another long snapper who isn’t going to beat out J.J

Yeah. Barring any trades, it's expected to be a relatively short day for us.

Interesting that for all the speculation about Fitterer's usual MO, we so far have yet to trade down in this year's draft.

    • Yuck.  I still kind of like Herbert but these playoff performances are rough....
    • I feel like this was the case with River and McDermott defenses as well, we just had the jimmies and the joes to overcome these deficiencies with all pro players at edge and linebacker positions.  Even then, was extremely frustrated in 2015 when we'd let team come back from 20+ pt deficits playing prevent only to barely win at the end.
    • We need to move on soon and just use Bryce as a bridge to find our next guy. I'd like to see how this offense works with Canales hand picking his own guy. Bryce holds this offense back a lot considering you draft the first pick to carry your team and be your best player. We invested heavily for Bryce and need everything to go right just to have him look like a solid game manager sometimes. When he plays well he can look decent or mid, but when he plays bad he looks like a bottom 5 qb in league (backups included). It's not worth it, especially if we need to pay him soon, which means we have to skimp all over the roster. If the defenses don't hand it to us on a silver platter Atlanta style then we struggle big time. Defenses don't respect the offense at all. With Cam we could have the worst offensive talent and I'd still think we had a shot in any game we played. If Bryce is facing a 3rd and 10 I pretty much wave the white flag and don't think we can make that first down.
