Panthers signing Yannick Ngakoue?

Damn....Floyd was the one I hoped we'd sign.

Yannick makes sense from a history with Reich and Wash, but doesn't seem like the type of EDGE we're looking to sign. Replicates what Burns does quite a bit.

I was hoping the Panthers would sign Floyd but sadly they didn't.

What does that last part mean?

Both Burns and Reddick are "speed" rushers

Fast for their position? Not s much a power guy but a speed and explosive quickness guy.

God I miss the days of Julius Peppers. A power fast speed explosive strength freak rusher guy.

Let out young edge guys develop and save the money for a difference maker when this team is ready for a real run.  No need to get all bothered about not knowing the answer on the other side this year.

I kind of feel like we are more or less in “win now” mode. It just happens to be by a different name “do everything we can to support the rookie QB and make sure next years draft pick is in the 20s and we look smart”

The Panthers window opens next year, not this IMO.  It opens wider if we don't spend money on so so players and develop the young options we have.

And as great as Reddick has been when he was here we got absolutely run over on the ground. Of course I'd take Reddick back, esp. in a 3-4 but there's something to be said for having a balance of skills along the DL/pass rush. A big reason why our D was so dominant in 2013 was CJ and Hardy being elite top 5-10 all around DEs who excelled against the pass and the run. That and Luke and TD being absolute monsters and Star eating space but you do need guys who can set the edge against the run and Burns is notably not good at that.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
