Apparently Reich, Brown and McCown did. What your problem is, I don't know. What's trying to be expressed, that you seem not to be understanding is that it's extraordinary for an inexperienced college freshman to not only see the play, but have the balls to change the protection. I guess that you missed the part where they said some pro QBs can't even do those things.

I get that you're nonplussed about the Young pick, but do you have to be so damned petty and negative about everything? Good grief, dude! Damn, "Debbie" doesn't befit a dude.

I’ve been one of the most negative posters here since the day Matt Fool got hired but I completely agree that now that there is NFL caliber staff and very promising QB prospect on the roster that now is far from the time to be negative. Bad times are over.

King's other comment about Young (while assessing team's chances for next year)

Carolina. I don’t expect it to take long for Bryce Young to get up to speed in the Carolina offense, but what no one knows is if Young will be sturdy enough to make it through an 18-week NFL campaign.

That particular concern doesn't go away now that he's drafted.

Just the opposite, it becomes very real.

Obviously we all hope it doesn't manifest into anything, but it's not going away.

because all QBs at any level does this kind of thing and makes the necessary adjustments. really no big deal, even for someone who is 19 years old and in their second college game ever.

or frank reich is correct and there are pro QBs who don't make this kind of adjustment and that it is incredibly rare, especially for a 19 year old kid in his 2nd college game.

nevermind...i forgot i'm talking to the lone expert here who is superior to every draft scout and coach in the league who sees that Young is on another level. thank you for imparting your wisdom with all of us idiots.

There are some pro qb's that start/, have started in the last few seasons that most likely didn't even have permission to do this. 😂

Good news is all Young has to do is prove he can stay healthy and it will go away.
Unlike, unfortunately, people constantly ragging on Cam’s accuracy which never went away his entire career.

    • People were discussing the new backup QB in comparison the the starter.  Neither has anything close to a cannon.  Video was posted of them throwing.  If people can’t be free to express their opinions without being put on a list of posters who have ruined this place we have a bad situation here. People trying to silence  criticism of the QB.    Maybe actually post about the other players instead of about the other posters. That is where it went off the rails.
    • That's true and we're definitely going to hear more about it as summer progresses. But at the end of the day all of the progress we've made on the roster as a whole will only matter if our passing offense can emerge from the basement of the NFL. In 2023 it was 32 out of 32 in 2024 it was 30th out of 32 and last year it was 26th out of 32. And early in the season we relied heavily on a career year from Rico Dowdle who is no longer on the roster. This is only reinforced by the fact that we (depending on how one views it) effectively took playcalling out of Dave Canales hands and brought in another offensive mind. The elephant in the room isn't going anywhere no matter how much we may not like it.
    • There's plenty of other things to discuss. This is the most talented roster we've had in a long time.
