At this point in time, who feels like we lost this trade?

Boring time of the year, so this is a post to hear people opinions. Do you feel like we lost this trade/made the wrong decision, or do you feel we made the right decision making the trade?

THE TRADE:

The full package of assets sent to Chicago reads like a shopping list: the ninth-overall pick this year, a second-round selection in 2023 (No. 61 overall originally from the 49ers), a first-round pick in 2024, a second-round pick in 2025, and Moore, a receiver who just completed the first year of a three-year, $61.88 million contract with the Panthers.

At this point we will miss DJ Moore, a future first in 2024, and a 2nd in 2025.

Projected starters on offense going into 2023:

QB: Bryce Young

RB: Miles Sanders, Hubbard

WR: Thielen, DJ Chark, Marshall JR, Mingo, Laviska, Damiere Byrd

TE: Hurst, Thomas, Tremble

LT: Icky

LG: Brady C

Center: Bozeman

RG: Corbett (when healthy)

RT: Moton

Almost nothing has changed since draft day, heck you could make the argument that nothing changed since the day we made the trade. We have no idea what the value of the picks we sent or the players already selected are. We simply have nothing else to discuss until we see a large sample size of all the assets at large. I will say from a trade value chart the picks and assets we gave up was a good bet and I personally feel great about Bryce Young and think the world of him. But that is simply my opinion and we just don’t know currently.

It really just depends on Bryce I guess.  If he balls out then it's worth it, if he doesn't then it will be the worst trade in organization history.  Worse then Sean Gilbert.  Let's hope it works out.

Very true but honestly if I’m GM right now for the Panthers, I still take that chance 10/10 if you believe Young will be a franchise QB. We can easily survive missing Moore, next years first and 2025 2nd with all the cap we will have starting next year.

Agree. But, If you were GM do you make that trade?

It never once bothered me that we traded away DJ Moore. I’m only bringing him up because most all the pundits were using him as the reason we lost the trade. I never understood it, he’s a good wide receiver but he is (and was) replaceable.

Hell yeah brother, not often you’re even able to trade for the #1 pick in a QB strong class. Bryce has shown nothing but class and what you can show in OTAS. We finally have some true hope at QB and aren’t tossing out the Teddy B, and Darnolds of the world.

    • Ehh NYR had more scoring opportunities and Florida is healthy with an elite net minder. Only fault I have on Rod is his goalie decision. At some point, the players deserve some balme.
    • I went to McDonald's at lunch got a combo for $12. It was ok. The next day I ordered lunch from Cracker Barrel got the broccoli cheddar chicken, steak fries, and 2 biscuits paid $12 with tip. Guess which was better.
