If we get above .500, I am good. That is a big success for where we are in this transition. If we finish a game or two under .500, not a big deal.

Now 10+ wins? Look out.

Prepare for greatness…this team is going to shock the world next season

Wouldn't be shocked to hear that he went through a similar exercise with other potential landing spots as well.  Pretty cool.

maybe, but really it was always going to be Carolina or Houston, and who would he go and study in Houston?

Demarco Ryans as HC and he took the 49ers passing game coordinator to be his OC, sure he could have watched 49ers film, but that's Shanahan's offense, who knows how similar this guy will want to run an offense.

A lot easier to watch old Reich run offenses

As a general comment, I'd be very surprised if there were many (I'm sure there are a handful we can all guess) potential #1 picks that hadn't looked into the teams that were likely to draft them. No way to prove that one way or another of course but it sure makes for a nice soundbyte.

More than anything, the underlying point or takeaway from my post is: We might have a special one on our hands here.  It's already more than apparent he's highly intelligent and motivated.

    • After seeing hits in the last two UDFA pools, I do not in this group sorta of a let down after I gassed myself up.  Not like I know of their games, but just expected more. The duke DT only has to beat out hunte (2025 UDFA) or Ray (DL coach's kid) or even Cam Jackson mid 2025 5th.  I thought they would bring in more edges, IOL, TEs, etc...
    • My 2 favorite picks, since you didn't ask? 3. Brazzell II.  A 1000 yard WR with 4.37 speed and checks all the boxes for a Z Wide Receiver.  IN THE THIRD ROUND!!! 5.  Sam Hecht.  I think he will take over as the starter at some point this season and never look back.  IN THE FIFTH ROUND. Runner Up:  2. Hunter:  We were targeting a DT early in this draft because we did very little to replace Robinson in free agency.  Hunter was our guy and he will start. In addition to that, you got a starting tackle that should man one side of the new OL we will build for Bryce's second contract. A starting WR, offensive lineman, defensive lineman and possible Offensive tackle (at some point during this year from this draft will start.  UNREAL. In addition, I don't doubt that Wheatley (5th round) takes the FS job by next year and Lee III is Jackson's replacement in 2027.   Finally, even Kuwatch should be a special teams demon and LB depth.   Last year's draft was so good it was ugly.  This one will turn out to be uglier.  No offense Basbear--this ain't about you.
