Raiders can't afford to fire McDaniels. I mean that literally. His contract is too much, from my understanding the Raiders financially can't fire him until the 24-25 season.

also, Shanahan should be much higher on that list than he is. Saleh too.

lastly, based on some of the Huddle ... Reich should be at the top of the list for not winning a game this preseason.

Shanahan? The Niners went 13-4 last year and have winning records in three of the last four seasons. Shanahan's seat is ice cold.

Barring something unexpected, like winning the East, Rivera is gone after this season. New ownership, possible new branding of the team, out with all the old, and add in the missed opportunities, lowered expectations and having a capable interim coach, or replacement coach on staff already, and it's pretty clear cut.

He probably doesn't have to win the division but I do think it's probably playoffs or bust for him.

look at his season records prior... he has had 3 winning seasons and 3 losing seasons. He has lost the core of his coaching staff and regressed as those coaches have left. He blundered the Trey Lance situation, and it has been reported that him and john lynch do not see eye to eye. If 49ers do not have a winning season this year.... i am willing to bet my avatar that Kyle or John are gone in SF....

They consider this guys safe? He might get canned by week 5

yeah the dude is weird as fug.... but execs that have worked with him said he is the genius type not a people type. I was ripping the guy to shreds before i did some background research on him.

I dont think he is a good HC but as a coordinator and schemer, apparently he is one of the best on defense.

Give it time. Many in here will have him at the top of the list. I will predict that he won’t make it to mid season before some are screaming.

12 seasons as a HC, only had a winning record 3 times, and has won 2 COY awards.

It really doesn't make sense how someone has cobbled together that kind of career in an age where most coaches can't go more than 2 seasons of losing records without getting fired.

But it all goes back to my problem with him while he was here, he's a great Monday to Saturday coach, his players all love him and love to play for him, but he's a beyond terrible gamely coach who realistically would have never risen above being a DC.

I don't have a problem with Rivera, but you have to realize what he is and what he provides.  If you screw yourself and hire a disaster as a HC who makes a clusterfug out of your team and organization, Rivera is one of the guys you call to stop the ship from sinking.  The revolt among the players will come to an end, the team will focus on football, and controversy will subside.  They will build cohesion.

Think Denver after they waited too long to fire McDaniels (who should have been fired within 30 days of his hiring, before ever stepping foot on the field).  Hell, think us after The Process was canned.  Wilks is of that same ilk.

But, they are never going to come up with some brilliant game plan, make some incredible adjustment within a game, call that mind-blowing play at a critical time, and steal a win from the jaws of certain defeat.

That's what you get with Rivera, Wilks, or Fox: stability.  And for some organizations, that is a dramatic improvement.  I'd say DC has been one of them.

As long as organizations screw themselves with disastrous head coaching hires they have to recover from, the Riveras, Wilks', and Foxes will have jobs.  And I don't think organizations will screw themselves any less in the next 10 years than they have in the last 50.

    • Never been. Going to a concert there Thursday night. Decent tailgating opportunities in the parking area or no? I see people are going to the beer hall to grab a beer to get their parking validated. Seems like a good plan to me. I'd like to smoke a brisket and do a decent spread of food but I just don't know if the parking setup allows for it.

    • Bryce also has a degree in psychology. He has an uncanny ability to compartmentalize things in a way that allows him to enter his second NFL season with optimism that he can still be the player who was worthy of being the No. 1 pick of the 2023 draft despite the kind of rookie year that has destroyed others in his position. Young credits that in part to his past. He graduated from the University of Alabama in three years with a degree in psychology. His father was a therapist in the mental health field for 20 years. His mother was a special education teacher, and his grandfather was a psychologist. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/40334565/bryce-young-developing-leader-panthers-year-2
