Stroud had 306 yards passing and two touchdowns in Sunday’s 30-6 dismantling of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He’s thrown for 1,212 yards and six touchdowns with no interceptions in four games for a passer rating of 100.6.

Young has thrown for 503 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions in three starts, missing a Week 3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks with a sprained right ankle. He has led Carolina to only two scores, has completed one pass of 20-plus yards, and his Total QBR of 27.8 ranks last in the NFL among qualified quarterbacks.

30th in passer rating too. Yet it is creating a virtual knock down drag out fight here to suggest he does not look like a #1 overall pick and has much work to do. If people want to live a fantasy that he's actually doing well then stay off the internet.

Would really love to see this fanbase stand behind their guy and realize it is week 5 of his rookie season. I believe. Frank, eh... Tepper, eh....But Bryce is my guy.

Why “get behind” Bryce but not get behind Frank or Tepper? And for the record, I am behind Bryce. I cheer him non stop during game day. I’m constantly in the game day thread talking him up, calling out the refs and doing generally what fans don’t support their teams. On Saturday and Sunday morning I hype the team and tell folks we are winning. I talk poo to my coworkers about The Bryce is Right, etc.

But then Sunday night comes and we have a L, and he hasn’t played up to potential and then he was supposed to be in the best situation of the first round QBs and he’s done the worst. So I then move on to critiquing until Saturday or so.

I always want to win and I always want our guys to dominate. But I’m not going to pretend that I’m not astounded by what CJ and Anthony are doing and I’m not going to pretend like I wasn’t the first one on here calling for us to go for CJ in a thread called “Suck Proud for Stroud” long before CJ even played against UGA.

I don’t want to compare Bryce to eight year veterans so I compare him to the other rookies he was drafted in front of.

Thanks for link.

Looks like a lot of those guys have a higher IQ and sense of reality than many on this board now.

I kept Scrolling.

and nice cherry picking.

if you actually read through  the whole thread(s) plural.

Most if not all but 1 or 2 are saying you can’t judge yet off this small sample size.  Something no one here can grasp and he’s our guy.

Also a whole lot of post credit their OC for scheming up certain route concepts to help CJ.  Something that goes over many here’s head.

And even several talking how much better their situation is than Bryce’s when before the season they expected the opposite.

Ive never seen an obsession with a player on another team than I have today.

I also never thought I’d see the day where Panthers Reddit felt a lot smarter than this place.  Not even 2010, not even Post Jake Delhomme Arizona collapse was this bad.

@Zodreally needs another hard reset like in 08

    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
    • Ok LT and Petersen are a cut above everyone else to me cmc and Faulk are interchangeable on this list.  though Faulk was better career wise
    • Maybe faked was too strong of a word.  "Milked" may be the better way to call it.
