Bryce Young’s Passing Chart

This is where you have to look at all 22 to see what options were there. They knew that the Vikings blitzed a lot, so screen game was the counter. When they tried to hold onto the ball for longer developing players, that's where the sacks from Harrison Smith came from.

I'm sure some of it is Bryce. But, Bryce is a rookie. The coaches have not put him into a position to succeed, and the play calling is not only chicken sh¡t, it's just sh¡t. Bryce Young is not Tim Teb***. If you think that he is, then you messed up on the draft pick. I've never seen such ineffective play calling for a prized first round pick. Reich's play calling has been exponentially worse than I could have imagined.

#FireFrank as OC. Not one single pass over 20 yards. We may as well trout Cam Newton out there if we aren’t gonna push the ball down the field.

There was 1 that drew a penalty that should've been PI but was for some reason just a 5 yard illegal contact, but yeah only 1 pass over 20 yards is egregiously terrible in this modern passing league.

Did you watch the game? If Bryce held the ball for more than 2 seconds, he got hit or at least majorly pressured. And the majority of the times he had a few seconds, the defense would have everyone covered downfield since we don't have any threats. I can't really fault the inclination to try to get a bunch of quick passes before the pressure comes.

    • I wonder if they'd consider trading Rasheed Walker to a team that needs tackle help but missed out in the draft?
    • LOL. This is such a Panthers fan take.  Anyone who falls to us must suck because some other team didn't take them before.  We got lucky with Lemon, Thieneman, and Freeling all falling to us (honestly any of the three is a A+) but the WR and S positions are much deeper than the LT position in this draft.  We got the LT w/ the most upside at 19.  Mauigoa played RT in college and some think he is a guard in the nfl.  Spano played RT in college and some think he is a guard in the NFL due to short arms.  Blake Miller played RT in college and is not as good as Freeling.  Proctor is a true LT but his ability to handle quick edge's worries me (see Icky).  Freeling is a true LT and a gifted pass protector.  Many think he has a very high ceiling and will benefit from not having to start right away.  This is how you build a franchise.
    • After watching Cam get killed for years behind a bad Oline and having to watch the 2021 and 2023 Olines I will never complain about this team putting resources into that spot.  We got a true LT who could really push Rasheed Walker for the day 1 job. Go back and watch Iceky's draft profile from 2022 and all the talk was Ickey would be an all-pro guard in a zone blocking scheme, but he could play LT in a gap power run scheme. That's why Ickey looked really good when Wilks took over and we just started running gap run plays and just mauled people up front but under Canales we've been more of a zone running team. Ickey can survive at LT with his pass blocking but his true strength will always be his ability to just move guys in the run game and that's a skill set that's better used at guard.  Take another OT later on day 3 to learn from Moton to take over RT in a couple of years and let Walker and Freeling battle it out for the day 1 LT job then next offseason trade one of Hunt of Lewis and let Ickey move inside to guard.
