I really hope all of you negative Nelly's out there get a fresh dose of humble pie.

From an outside perspective I can understand how "promoting" from within may not be the best move given the dumpster fire of a season.  However, many of you, myself included, are not "real" football guys.

We may actually have something with our defense.  Our offense was ABYSMAL.  Almost as bad if not worse than the Clausen season or even the VInny/St. Pierre seasons.  We won 2 games, however I really think 8 other games were winnable if we could even resemble a bad offense.

Dan Morgan is tough as nails and will hold others accountable.  When Wilks took over, there was a shift in the organization which left when he was shown the door.  Frank Reich doesn't scream accountability.  Scott Fitterer my have been an experienced executive, but he's not a football guy.  My gut says come September, your Carolina Panthers will be tougher and look more like the team that ended the 2022-23 season.

BTW, I am not a fan of Tepper.  I truly think he is ruining this team, hopefully Dan can convince him to take a step back.

JFC the only pie we get as Panthers fans is dogpoofootball pie.

He literally help built a 2 win team, was in the room for all of those awful decisions and then just game of throned his way to GM. Get the fug out of here with that and your alt account.

Loved Dan the person and player but he is dog poo at this point as a Panther employee. I hope he enjoys his pay while licking both Tepper's shoes and asscracks.

I've only been watching a few minutes of this so far but Gantt is hyping up that Morgan isn't afraid to say no. That doesn't sit well with me. If the team's mouthpiece is hyping that up, it doesn't bode well. They've started to talk about last season and Gantt blamed the Oline injuries and having to play so many guards for a lot of the issues. Nothing about the Oline playing the wrong scheme or anything else so far.

GMs adjust starting lineups? That’s usually the HC I believe…

Tepper apparently can and he's the owner over the GM.  I think whomever is the new HC, benching Bryce will have to be run up the chain. You disagree?  I don't think Tepper has stepped away from the meddling.  Remember, Fitterer threw Reich under the bus for not 'fixing' Bryce quick enough.  Unfortunately until Tepper is no longer the owner, things like benching the #1 overall pick will not be just the HCs call.  Not in in this micromanaged organization.

I mean, a very average Hubbard made Sanders look like a bum.   I think he is just the meh RB Philly wanted to move away from....that could only run behind huge holes and offered little outside of that.

That's not Bryce Young or really even the OC.  That's Sanders just being meh.

Well I did put sanders in a different category from the others. I dunno how true that is but I can believe that more than the other three wouldn’t be better with a better QB

So you want our GM to overstep and tell the HC who to start/bench? I’m confused….

The Morgan hire mirrors the Lynch hire when Sportsology helped San Francisco a few years back. It’s been my understanding for a while now that Morgan was the cynic of the group and was always on the outside until this season. For those around it became more apparent that Tepper was seen walking, talking, and sitting with Morgan at practice, games and events more and more as the season progressed. Just speculation but that sure indicates that he may have shared some perspective that turned out to be true.

Frankly, I’m not surprised at the decision. I feel that the emphasis on him also being the “President of Football Ops” also indicates that he will be a buffer between the HC and Owner which was likely highly recommended by Sportsology (Look at Roseman and Snead on the other two teams they have assisted). I still think somebody like Tilis or Matteo could come in and be the “numbers” guy in an AGM role or similar.

Good stuff. By far the best member supplied info on the Huddle

    • I think Indiana will win it all but Miami should give them a much better fight than Oregon did.
    • When I tell people I was at that game, they usually say oh that’s so cool you had the experience. I call it soul crushing. Why? The weeks and months leading up to it were great, the team was fun to watch every week…some weeks the offense was unstoppable and carried the team (saints and giants road games), other times the defense carried the load (jaguars, tampa). Lots of back and forth games against good teams (Seattle and Indy). Good young players on the team, but the veteran leadership was incredible…from Cam, Olsen, Kalil and J Stew to Luke, TD, Norman, Tillman, Jared Allen, CJ. Role players like Fozzy Whitaker, Cotchery (he caught that MFer), Philly brown, Kyle love, AJ Klein, and so on.  The Friday before the nfc championship my wife and I after a few drinks said let’s see what prices look like for flights/accommodations and we got to talking about how much prices would increase if we waited until we found out if we would be in the big game. We said screw it, we are only out $200 if we have to cancel.  Of course we come out and just pulverized the cardinals in front of the most raucous crowd by far we’ve ever had. We had no idea what we would do for game tickets and then found out a neighbor who worked for the team could get us 2 for face value (each employee got two of their own for free, something cool that JR did).  But then the NFL mafia decided that the storyline of manning going out on top like Elway would give them more goodwill than a non traditional QB who didn’t connect with their target demo and the rest is history. I never have and never will watch that game again. I am just hoping I can see them win one in the 2nd half of my life.
