If they hire Evero or a defensive minded head coach, who do you want as OC?

I think the hiring of Dan Morgan might signal that the Panthers want to try to keep the functioning parts of the team together. Evero made cake out of pure sh*t on the defensive side of the ball last year. And he seems well liked on the team. Raheem Morris and Mike McDonald are other defensive minded head coaches in the interview process.

Who is your pick for offensive coordinator if they go with a defensive minded coach? Some names I could see are guys who interviewed for the head coaching job last year who are jobless at the moment - Kellen Moore and Ken Dorsey. I actually wouldn’t hate Ken Dorsey as OC. He had a big part of developing Cam and Josh Allen. And he knows the read option offense. If Bryce is going to have any success in the NFL, it will have to be in that style of offense.

Let me say I don’t LOVE this arrangement but, if they get the best defensive coach for the job, we could do worse as we saw last season.

Keeping the functional parts together is the last thing he should have done. This is the worst team in the league you clean house if you are serious about changing the franchise.

Tepper is a fuggin idiot. Sorry to be rude, im just tired of these stupid ass hires. He tells the fanbase big changes are coming and he hires Dan from around the corner who he already has a relationship with. Tepper has his yes man. This announcement has kind of ruined my interest in the next HC because im expecting the worst.

People of Carolina David Tepper is really going to leave a shitty legacy behind when it comes to the Panthers. I hate to be negative, but everything this dude touches turns to shitt!

Why give it a name? Whoever it is will be the first scapegoat on the list like Brady or will Brown themselves with Tepper. There are a lot less mysteries about how the Panthers are run now. It will also be who they like vs who could do a better job. It's not a long term position here now and anyone that takes it is a fool or selling BS.

    • We won't know the answer to this for a long time. Reality is, Caleb has been the consensus #1 in that draft for years. Bryce was a similar situation, but mostly the same. He was not the clear and obvious #1 that Caleb was, but most teams had Bryce at QB1. The Panthers were always going to be terrible Bryce's rookie year.  I don't think DJ Moore's presence would have changed anything about that offense, as our guards, center, and left tackle were getting demolished on nearly every snap. It's clear Caleb's dad was trying to do everything possible to ensure Caleb didn't end up in Chicago with Eberflus. It's hard to imagine that he wouldn't have done the same, but probably more publicly with our situation, considering Carolina is an easier target for the media than Chicago. We can all speculate, but it's impossible to tell who is going to have the better career on May 16, 2025. If either, QB doesn't pan out, we have an easy answer. If both flame out, the bears clearly won the trade, but it wouldn't have really mattered anyway. We all know how we win the trade. Candidly, even if one of the other picks we gave up ends up being a hall of fame player, we don't know if the panthers would have taken that player anyway. All you can do is make the best decision you can in the moment with the information you have. I really like Bryce Young, and I'm glad he's a Carolina Panther.  The only way to win in the modern NFL is to have an absolute dude at QB. I personally am happy that our franchise recognizes this, as I remember times when they did not.
    • This year, there's been enough positive talk from core players, free agents, and coaches to where I believe the culture building and momentum is more important than fighting for a worse record.
