Why is Morgan the bigger issue? Experience? He and Canales worked together for years in Seattle. This hire was Morgan-led, so if your mindset is that Morgan is a puppet for Tepper ... so is Canales.

Lol...I am all in on Morgan and one of a few who  doesn't think he is a yes man.

He is the bigger issue because his role is more important right now leading up to the draft and free agency. There is no coaching going on so it's going to be a while before we can judge Canales.

He has produced at every stop. Im more concerned with good offense over flashy. Canales seems to be able to produce that. Playoff caliber offenses. Now can he create the right culture here and have buy in. Cannot have anothet softy like Rhule and Reich. This team needs an edge.

So I'm excited we have a head coach again!  I'm interested in Canales.  I like what I've seen about him but there are plenty of questions that remain.

Hopefully Tepper gives him the time to develop and we get the right players in place.

Let's keep the off season moving.  We'll see how it goes.  Hopefully well!

bottom line---Russell Wilson was good with him and bad in Denver, Geno Smith was pulled from the dumpster and is good, Baker--you know the story there.  He is the coach hired so that Tepper can save face with the Bryce selection--so he hired the horse whisperer.  He was my second choice, behind Vrabel, but I am not into the tall grass about this stuff like some of you dateless data divers.

What do y’all think about this? Idk much about him at all. Why is he considered a good offensive mind?

Look where they were at mid season. They were probably ranked 28th or lower across the board. They were sitting at 4-7 at one point before they figured out their running game.

Why is he considered a good hire? See: Smith, Geno 2022 season and Mayfield, Baker 2023 season.

    • Interesting topic.  I have had a few NFL friends and one told me that he could not work out or train unless the activities and facilities were approved. AI: In many NFL contracts, certain activities are restricted, and injuries sustained during those activities can lead to the voiding of contract guarantees or even the entire contract. These restrictions often include dangerous activities like skydiving, rock climbing, or even engaging in contact sports like boxing. Additionally, injuries sustained while working out at non-team facilities or during personal recreational activities may be classified as "non-football injuries," potentially impacting the player's compensation.    Having said that, I question the reason the person filming this was not helping.  Secondly, the decision to put it on social media makes it seem a bit prearranged.  I do not think this would violate his contract, but I do think it is a bit stupid on his part in that he could be injured.
    • Doesn't make it right.  And as you put it, you wanted to ban him from being country, which is essentially policing who he is as a person lol  I get protecting the "asset", but banning people from living their life is crazy. Russell Wilson likes to play helicopter pilot.  I would deem that WAY more dangerous.  Those things scare me.  I still wouldn't want to keep him from doing it if I were his boss.  I would just try not to think about it, haha.
    • Could do better could do worse. I've seen some people very indignant over bringing him back and I can absolutely relate to the sentiment. But it's just in a backup role. He's also a good locker room presence and an effort player so for a 1 year rental in a year where we aren't going to do much it's fine. This is a development year. And there will be options if need be at the trade deadline. Besides at the end of the day we all knew a signing like this was around the corner after how drafting Mark Williams ended. He should have been our franchise center for the next several years. I don’t put that failure on the Hornets.
