They aren't giving up their 1st this year, so unless we get their 1st next year as part of a deal, I'm going to be furious.

Two 2nd's is not the trade to make, I'd rather trade him for 1 pick towards the end of the 1st round than the two 2nd's

It's the exact same mistake we made with the CMC trade in taking the point value based on the stupid draft chart.  You can't do that with players of this caliber, it doesn't add up on the field.

Just now, KSpan said:

That warrant was signed as Fitterer turned down the Rams haul.

This^^^  Turning down that trade was a colossal mistake. They were never going to get anything even close to that offer ever again.  That ship not only sailed, it sank to the bottom of the ocean.

a quarter takes 1 roster spot, and three dimes takes three.  Maybe that was what he meant.

i take the Gettleman quote (its paraphrased of course) as the point being if you have a true difference maker at one spot, it overcomes three guys who are say shaq thompson types. great is so hard to find its carries premium value. a top five/ten guy at a position changes the whole team.

    • FLA showed everyone it’s not about superstars. they bullied the best line in the NHL into obscurity. they played hard, were in the right positions, and ran over everything that got in their way.
    • That’s really not what you said and when I even expressed doubt as to your intentions with the post you doubled down and remained unclear on whether you were trying to drag Dean Smith for whatever reason. You just got the facts wrong, which if you don’t follow the local college programs like you say then maybe you just were mistaken and thought Smith didn’t win championships or have legit superstars, and that is ok, but you just doubled down when my first post was more corrective than anything. I’m not sure what you expect posting objectively false things like “RBA has a lot of wins with nothing to show for it like Dean Smith” (paraphrasing) on a message board with plenty of UNC fans. I’m not taking it as a personal affront, we can agree to disagree, Dean Smith’s legacy fortunately will not be affected by this conversation. Screw the (Florida) Panthers?
    • Bring in the free agents and trades.  Florida is the best team and unless Tulsky makes it happen, it’s more of the same…which isn’t bad…but it’s time to win a goddamn cup.
