Broncos, Steelers, Washington - all decisively moving on from QBs who they deemed not good enough.

The Panthers - let's run it back with Young, he needs more time.

And that's why we suck.

Those teams didn’t mortgage their futures

The Broncos definitely did and the Falcons have just backed up a Brinks truck for a 36 year old coming off a torn achilles tendon.

Those teams all had multiple seasons with those QBs. The Panthers have had one. Not quite the same thing.

Unfortunately we picked the guy that fit in the previous draft... with a trade up to #1 overall one pick ahead of a guy who had one of the best rookie seasons ever. Tepper's Panthers in a nutshell.

Yes but come on dude.

None of them after 1 season. Astute observation otherwise.

I’m not saying we shouldn’t.  Broncos and Pittsburg moved on from QBs that they didn’t trade the farm for.  We gave up so much for young that they feel committed to him.

This has Russell Wilson written all over it. He doesn't want people in the stands calling for the Pittsburgh kid every time he throws a pick. I don't even think there is another QB on their roster right now.

Russell Wilson is such an enormous vagina tool

I don't think you understand Kenny Pickett sucks. Once you understand that you will understand why they went with Russ.

Its not like Pitt didn't surround him with talent. The kid had a good WR core. He just wasn't showing any signs of improvement.

Bryce will be in a similar situation this year. If he shows no sign of improvement we have to move on and go draft another QB.

Yeah, he sucked, but damn they have to find someone to be the backup.

    • So what is more important? what he did on the Saints the year before last or how he compares to a ROOKIE who clearly had problems adjusting to the LEAGUE last year on another team and it effecting win/losses? smh And you say im all over the place.  Also, i clearly gave explanations for how the seattle game played out. Its rare a qb has to throw the ball 63 times so to think it would have been a theme for the season is ludicrous... the even bigger point is that its not necessarily his fault if he has to do it in the first place like he was calling the plays but for some strange reason you continue to hold that against Dalton as if its all on him and not the guys around him racking up penalties. If he is old terrible as you say it shouldnt matter how bad the defense was he played, he shouldnt have been able to throw for over 300 yds on them with no turnovers. But this is the narratives people pushed all season, why didnt bryce turn around and destroy and even worse defense against a winless vikings the next week? Do i need to layout how dumb this logic is even more?
    • I love to bash them for this move but its smart..  They have a team that can win the NFCS this year, but yet they are picking in the top 10 now.  Cousins contract is really only a 2 year deal. So Penix can sit and learn with no pressure for 2 years and in year 3 when Cousins guaranteed money is over they can plug in Penix.  If they were not in a position to win the South this year then I think this would have been bad trade, but its smart and they can afford it.
    • Already noticing differences At least this year, we did not see photos of Xavier hugging Mrs. Tepper (even if others were hugged, it simply suggests owner involvement on a premature level, imo)--there were no cute news conferences wherein the head coach jokes about drafting a RB because he had a good game against Baylor and his wife told him to; There are not recordings of the head coach calling a long snapper and trying to convince him that he is being drafted and not pranked.    In other words, I get the feeling that the GM was actually able to do his job this year--we shall see.
