How short a leash will Young be on?

Bryce will be the starting QB here at least through 2025.  I don't care how bad he is this coming season, teams typically don't give up on the #1 overall pick, especially a QB, just after two seasons.

Buckle up for the 2026 draft.

I mean, but that's because those #1 overall picks..... did something.

Trevor - playoffs by year 2

Burrow - playoffs by year 2

Murray - OROY and Pro Bowl by year 2

Baker - Rookie record for TDs

Goff - playoffs by year 2

Winston - OROY and Pro Bowl year 1

Luck - OROY and Pro Bowl by year 1

Cam -OROY and Pro Bowl by  year 1

Bryce has to actually live up to the field to be treated like the field.  Plenty of first round QBs in recent history have been given up on between 1 and 2 seasons.

He won't be on a leash at all. They will let him run the show for the entire season. If we end up with the #1 pick we obviously take Sanders to be our QB.

*Before you Colorado haters say something, Prime dropped an interview last week saying he's not following his sons to the NFL and he doesn't want to coach in the NFL. So we are just getting his son.

Go watch Shedeur in the Stanford game in overtime 😂😂😂

Coach killer. If Bryce at least showed drive, a temper your friends were afraid of… someone may take a flier on him.

If it’s last year’s Bryce part 2, then arena league it is.

I think the coach who ran an archaic 90s offense that mostly consisted of 4 players running a 10 yard curl killed himself. Bryce didn’t play well but he was a rookie who had the leagues worst receiving corp and a bottom 3 offensive line. He did not kill any coach. That poo is laughable.

The same offensive line that was middle of the league in allowing Qb time in pocket? Bryce got sacked a lot a year before at Alabama i guess their line was bad too.

After watching this video it's quite obvious why the team went after Johnson (and  XL) this offseason. We can't keep working the middle of the field with dig, hook, and crossing route and expect to be any better on offense this season.

Bryce should be in the media talking about his new weapons and getting together with those new guys to build a rapport. I doubt he'll  do it .

He did a bojangles instagram spot though

Eh, no one needs to be saying anything publicly. Non-issue.

With the team or the fans?

The owners and front office want to remove the egg from their face they want to be vindicated so they have a certain level of emotional attachment. As do some fans for various reasons. But the roster is comprised of players of different position groups and different payscales that are directly affected by QB play no matter what they say publicly and many will not want to stick around if there is another season of statistical bottom of the league QB play with no viable solution.

Overall. He has the 2024 season to show definitive proof he is worthy of the #1 pick or we draft another QB next year.

I hope he does. I don't want to have to start over again.

That being said. There's no emotional attachment. I'm not going to rejoice if he only proves himself to be a decent game manager. I will be calling for another QB to be drafted early as I've seen enough game managers. He needs to be dynamic and he needs to establish a deep ball connection. Period. That is the basic standard for a first overall quarterback. Anything less is 2025 first round QB for me.

Not saying he needs to set up a press conference but the media picks up on these types of things. He needs to be the leader of this team and show he is committed to winning especially after last season.

    • Have you seen the mock drafts lately?   Most of them have us taking a QB. Just because you aren't high on these QBs doesn't mean the Panthers or other teams aren't.   If you want me to be real I just think you a Tmac homer and all you care about is us drafting him. It's why you get so defensive when people mention other prospects.   Be open to other people's ideas. Nobody in this thread is saying anything bad about your boy Tmac.
    • Oh good lord Interest doesn't mean interest in making a bad trade to take the player, that's why I had such a long post, to accurately describe why those are two different things, but you don't like to listen to that stuff.  Being interested in a player doesn't live in a vacuum. It's very simple... there isn't a #1 draft pick type of grade on any of these QB's, if there was, we'd just take them.  You can't bluff a pick everyone knows you won't make, and trying to trade the pick is the CLEAR signal that you're not taking the QB. Just because the Raiders would have interest, doesn't mean they're going to bail us out of a situation we don't want to be in, they'd be smart about it and just sit put, let us take a non QB as we'd be telling the world we're not taking one just by trying to trade the pick, and then they'd take him at #2 (either with their own pick or by trading less to get that one). Oh, and your point of "if nobody is willing to make the trade, you obviously just take the best QB" is quite literally the dumbest thing I've ever read on here. If nobody is willing to trade up to take the QB, then it's OBVIOUS that the QB isn't worth taking with that pick, so OBVIOUSLY taking the best QB there is just OBVIOUSLY stupid and a bad pick. The moral of it is if there is a QB worth taking, we're taking them and not making the trade.  If there isn't a QB worth taking there, nobody is trading up to #1 to take one, we just showed the NFL how bad of an idea that is 2 years ago, it's really not hard to see. You keep making up this mythical situation where there is a QB who has shown to be worth trading up to #1 for and we'll be able to leverage that into a trade.  But we're the most QB needy team in the league, if we end up with the #1 pick, either we are taking a QB #1 or no QB is going #1 unless we get VERY lucky and two teams in the Top 5 fall in love with one prospect and we can play them off each other and fleece one of them. But again, I can't see that happening, as if there was a QB worthy of that, we're just taking him ourselves.
    • Sanders is with Tom Brady brand and that's his mentor. The Raiders owner was with Sanders taking pics at a Vegas game together.   It doesn't take much to connect the dots that Vegas will be interested in Sanders as their franchise QB. Oh yeah and guess who hasa small ownership stake in the Raiders Tom Brady.   I guess this is just another made up Madden idea by me huh?
