Some Thoughts on Legette based upon an ex-scout's ranking him WR1 in the draft

Recommended Posts

Nice contribution.  Appreciate it.

I have seen him on interviews, and I just like the kid.  He breaks so many molds and stereotypes, I doubt trying to put a label on his is going to work.  I think he can be special.  During his presser he was talking about riding horses and doing wildlife stuff.

This came to mind:  Lil Nas XL

I mean it worked against 20 year old college kids, he's going to need to add some more tools and refinement to that in the pros. Being compared to a WR from 30-40 years ago is something else considering the game has completely changed

History says one of MHJ, Rome or Nabers will be an absolute bust, so it's not out of the realm of possibilty. Keyshawn Johnson is a good comp for Marvin Harrison Jr. Solid, but not spectacular

The WR position has only got easier to play in that time though.

Legette is a nice prospect, with lots of upside.  But this guy saying he is better than Harrison, Odunze, and Nabors, sorry but he's out of his ever loving mind.

Time will tell... When the smoke clears, I think we will see there wasn't much difference in the 1st WR drafted and the 8th WR drafted. Legette on OSU or LSU would have looked very different.

Looking forward to another season of our receivers looking like poo because they can't get "BY open" 5 yards from the LOS and the cover 0 safety playing 12 yards deep.

Why even watch them? I mean if you are already saying you are projecting another failed season with happening what you are claiming will happen then where is the motivation for you to even watch? Sounds as if you have zero hope here, so what's the point or motivation for you to even turn your tv on next season?

    • would love it if Vegas were Week 5 (Oct 7).  Just throwing it out there with fingers crossed
    • I believe you are correct. Everyone remembers that record setting drubbing of the Broncos but that was the highlight of their season. They have very good coaching overall and they have a ton of talent. With a better QB they could have knocked off the Chiefs IMO. We aren't even in the conversation of the Dolphins until proven otherwise. We couldn't even get in the end zone against the lowly Chicago Bears. We got shutout and blown out by the CJ Beathard led Jaguars for fugs sake. We can't even compete with bad teams let alone run up the score on them. To me if I'm being completely realistic if I'm the GM and my job is on the line and I feel like Tua is Bryce Young's ceiling I'm drafting QB in the first round next year unless he just magically has a season like Stroud did last year. That's it. I'm genuinely not trying to be abrasive about this it just gets really mind numbing eventually that we keep lowering the bar down down down down down and it's like hey it's fine to have expectations. And if you have a young QB in his prime and he isn't giving you at least prime Jake Delhomme arm talent it's time to keep looking for a QB.
    • Not exactly.  They show that Jones was making the most of the opportunities he had.  I was never a fan of his, but I think that the talent level in NE last year is somehow escaping the massive negative attention it should have received.  That team was terrible - especially the talent and coaching on offense - and everyone was still afraid of the wrath of hoodie. He'll have a chance to restart his career at some point.  He was a middle of the pack QB as a rookie.  Plenty of teams out there would love to make it up to middle of the pack at QB.
