Where would the Panthers be if they sat Bryce Young last season?

Yeah, my issue with the Canales pairing….is his history is all tied the deep balls.  Saw it last year with Baker.  Deep ball was the basis for Geno’s comeback story and Wilson has always been a chuck it downfield QB.  First big investment by Canales was a WR that 100% fit that philosophy in Leggette.

Thats not Bryce. He doesn’t fit what Canales history is.  Just like he didn’t fit Frank.  Only real argument I got is maybe this staff is young enough to deviate from what they have been around and been in this league.  Historically, coaches struggle with that.

Bryce specific, just feels similar to last year.  He is the square peg to the round hole.

Geno seems to be the one people really like to point to for why Canales is going to pull it off but…Geno’s aired it out and was the best deep passer in the NFL that season.

Nearly half of Smith's 30 touchdown passes came on deep passes, and his 13 downfield scores led all quarterbacks. This rate of success was stellar: 25.4 percent of Smith's deep attempts produced touchdowns in 2022. With this in mind, it's easy to see how he finished with a deep passing EPA of +42.3

Canales is clearly building an NFL offense, not a Bryce offense. They’re giving him a chance and if he can run it, good.

We'd be Super Bowl Champs. Dalton SB MVP. I would have this huge ginger headed tattoo on my very large belly of him holding the Lombardi. I would have 10 of the worlds hottest queens chasing after me when my shirt came off and my huge man boobs slapping Dalton in the face. .Good times.

That's what would have happened if Bryce was benched. Thanks Tepper for ducking me.

and that’s sort of why we are the worst team in all professional sports…

we mortgaged our future on an anomaly QB….and then pair him with coaches that expect he should be able to just fit him into what they have done.

this franchise shouldn’t of draft Bryce Young.  Simple as that.

Never in 1,000,000. I’m still completely nonplussed as to how he was the pick.

Facts: really undersized. Bad deep ball. Weak arm. Bad footwork. Needs elite talent to succeed. Never even threw a ball at the combine.  How many more bad signs do you need? But somehow scammed us in to selling the farm. Unreal.

Canales is upgrading talent across the board on the offense. He wants DUDES. It SHOULD help Bryce, as well as his eventual replacement.

I know where Tepper is going to be stationed most of the time come training camp.

I’d rather have a coach that’s going to install his plan instead of building around the weaknesses of a very limited player.

We goofed on the draft pick but this is the path forward.  He either swims or he doesn’t.

Aren’t we just coping and defending whatever the Panthers do…

We have a coach that runs an O that doesn’t fit Bryce (our #1 overall pick).  We got a HC playcaller.  We got no experience at OC.  We got Jim Caldwell advising it all.  We got Tepper.  Now which season am I talking about??

seems like the definition of insanity.

    • Just going off the draft sims and he's always sitting around 20 lol. First year in a while where we haven't been thinking about the draft already in late October so haven't really looked into the top 15-20 picks yet. Also the qb class is super weak so he probably will sneak up into 10-15
    • I fully expect them to pick up his 5th year , and they're waiting for him to put a full excellent consistent season of QB play in year 4 or 5. If that don't happen,  they'll eventually cut ties.  Here's to hoping he just goes on a team in 2026. The worst thing he could do is continue to see-saw us to around .500 records because it might be impossible to replace him at that point unless youre willing to do the veteran qb carousel poo we did from 2019 to 2023.
    • What do you think of Bryce Youngs career thus far? Are you excited about his progress or is it not enough for you? I included a poll of ranking his performance through 3 years thus far.  I personally think he's made some decent progress. Has had some high moments (last half of 2024, Rams game, ATL game in 2025)  but in my mind, those are still outweighed by the many more lowlights thus far (ex turnovers, missed throws, poor decisions)  It's a very mixed bag for me. He's done enough to get a 5th year option but by no means should we lock him in with a 50+ mil a year multi year deal. I want to see him play consistently well for a full year before that happens (yes, I'm still saying that going into year 4. That might be telling).  Just sucks when you see CJ Stroud, Jayden Daniel's, Caleb Williams almost immediately lighting poo up with their arm talent. Maybe Bryce is just an ultra slow burn. I don't know what to think anymore. Guess we're gonna be stuck with him for a whilr unless we end up being bad enough to earn a high pick next year. I doubted it lol. Overall Stats for his career:       ● 14 W - 30L (regular season)       ● 0-1 playoffs record        ● 61.4% completion, 8291 passing yards, 49 TDs, 30 INTs  Year 1:       ● 2 wins, 14 losses      ● 60% completion rate, 2877 passing yards, 11 TD to 10 INTs, 5.5 yards per attempted pass Year 2:        ● 4 wins , 8 losses        ● 60.9% completion rate,  2403 passing yards, 15 TD, 9 INTs,  6.3 yards per attempted pass  Year 3:        ● 8 Wins, 8 Losses         ● 63.6% competition rate, 3011 passing yards, 23 TDs to 11 INTs  Playoffs         ● 1 game in year 3 ( 0 - 1 in playoffs)         ● 21/40 (52.5% completion rate), 264 passing yards, 1 TD, 1 INT.
