Mingo stat. Lost yards on uncatchable balls

Both those charts show Mac Jones was off the charts good, which I find very interesting.

Jones is not a good QB but he did have a significantly better deep ball than our first overall pick at Alabama.

A terrible offensive Line impacts everything--when you become not only one-dimensional, you become predictable because you are so limited by the OL.  Instead, people trash Mingo--a rookie trying to find a rhythm in a system without one--A QB trying to find a rhythm when the WRs are not open and the OL is a turnstile.  TOM BRADY would have struggled here. IN HIS PRIME.  I am concerned that this hurt Bryce Mentally--and he might not be able to recover--but let's see what happens before we torch our own players--again--to trash any offensive player beyond the IOL for last season suggests that you don't get football.

my thing is, we have seen lots of good QBs play behind really bad OLs at times.  And yes, bad OLs impact everything.  But those good QBs, still have lots of moments showing how good they are behind bad OLs.  And frankly, a bad OL has never made any of them what we were last year.   Heck, many of them go to the playoffs with bad OL play.

That's my Bryce issue.  He didn't have really any moments that a #1 overall pick should of had.  Bad OL play included.

But I concede, Bryce was setup to fail.  And fail he did.  But if he was special, I still think that still has it's moments no matter what.

Thanks for posting this. I don’t know how many of you guys also visit the Reddit panther sub, but damn Mingo catches so much poo in there, and Bryce gets every excuse.

Seems like inconsistent logic to me that Bryce gets a pass for the team dysfunction, but Mingo is just a bust.

I saw inconsistent tape from Mingo, but he had plenty of examples of good route running…showing me he can do it.

He was a rookie, and naturally was inconsistent with it. I don’t think we are dealing with Dwayne Jarrett here. I look forward to seeing him develop more consistency…and I hope Bryce can get him the ball if he does.

I actually agree with this - to a degree. Mingo is not a finished product and his route running did improve as the season progressed. Grace has to be given to any rookie in last year's offense. QB, RB, WR, TE or Oline. Any of those positions would have been set up to fail as a 1st year player in the NFL. Bad scheme, bad playcalling and probably bad coaching (can't say definitely since we weren't at practices).

The zero designed runs and only 26 rpo's on the season will make it a little tough on your O-line as well.

Mingo was a rookie who was known to be raw with a high ceiling and he went to a terrible situation. If our new staff can develop him like they should we could have a halfway decent WR room. I want Mingo to eventually take over for AT as a big slot WR. I feel like that’s where he was always projected.

it just amazes me to no end how everyone & their sister said that the Panthers had assembled an All Star coaching staff prior to last season & how the Paanthers was a perfect place for a rookie Qb

or was it that we simply drafted the wrong guy with the #1 overall pick & as a result the coaches could not attack the whole field beyond 20 yards of the line of scrimmage & instead  had to dial the playbook back to suit what they had to work with under center...just saying

Everyone said his recievers were trash at Alabama too, it's a common theme with the Bryce excusers

You only lose a down on uncatchable balls

Big game and you need this. Your QB misses a wide  open target 20 yards downfield or the RB drifted out and has green grass in front of him, and QB hits him in the side of his foot.

Plus, loss of down.

    • There are 98 NBA players that have more points in the paint than our superstar. That isn't a ref problem.
    • I don't really get the Cam parallels. Cam was a monster and even with the refs not giving him his due he still ate. Where it finally had an impact was when they let defenses headhunt him. There are probably some refs that don't like LaMelo for reasons people can determine on their own. But I think most of the noncalls are due to us being a small market team and the league and the refs just giving zero fưcks if we continue to exist. At the end of the day it's up to LaMelo to rise above it all. Nobody is out there trying to take his head off. He needs to add some bulk in the offseason assert himself and get physical in the paint and take any fouls that might come along the way and gradually you will see the tide turn. But nothing is going to change for the better for him or the team if he just continues to limit himself to acrobatic threes from halfcourt. That's just the reality of the situation.
    • Terrence Brown Jr. Scored 19.9 and 3.8 apg for Utah. He had a visit today, Juke Harris had one yesterday. Word is Knox is following Martin to UNC.  Avdalas committed today Jarin committed to returning  Young committed to returning  Adams committed to enrolling  Last I heard Mingo is still committed  So right now the roster is as far as I know.  Mingo, Adams, Avdalas, Young, Knox, Matlekovic, and Stevenson.    Veesar and Juke both have significant offers from UNC.
