Rookie Diary: Trevin Wallace seemed destined to be a Panther

We will regret drafting this guy instead of Payton Wilson. He is the real mad dawg.

Idk they may be wanting someone who could have a long career here with us. Every other team passed on him multiple times due to viewing him as a one contract player because of how bad that knee is.

I hope someone like TD takes him under their wings.

Seems like Shaq already is, which is cool to see.

He isn't as good as Luke or TD, very few are, but he's solid and consistent, and above all, loyal to the team. We have absolutely sucked the majority of his career here minus the super bowl run his rookie year, but he has stuck it out with us.

As a fan of a really shitty team, those are the guys you look back on and appreciate.

On Draft Night:

”But I was sitting there and my manager called me and was like, 'hey, stay by your phone. A lot of teams texted me and said they could come get you.' Then the Panthers traded up and then that's why I got a call.

Shows we weren’t off in our evaluations. His agent expected him to be drafted late second, early third so it’s not like it was a huge reach. He stated he was the 4th ranked LB according to his agent as well.

His strengths can’t be coached but his weaknesses can. High ceiling low floor LB. Evero can hopefully develop him properly.

Apparently the Steelers were eyeing him

    • Damn Logan Jones had a good day too. Was high on him coming in as he anchored that top Iowa line and is a fire plug inside. He's gonna be 25 to start the season so maybe he slips into the 4th but I doubt it, even if C isn't a premium position. His play on the field was top notch and the combine boosted it again. Arm length is about the only knock. But guy is plug and play at C.   This is a loaded class at C. Need to grab one.
    • Bryce will be permanently replaced by a draft pick. There's not another Sam Darnold out there to save us. Tepper is going to see this throw because he dumped Mayfield and Darnold too soon. He's going to give it 1 more year before he will sign off on dumping another 1st round pick qb. Thats the cold hard truth of it. It doesn't mean we can't get younger and much better at the backup position.
    • Maybe I should have used a different word and saved that for me. I want someone that has something impressive about them.  Someone that has potential to supplant a guy who is producing 25th best type of numbers. 22nd, 27th all that bottom third neighborhood.  I don’t know where that will come from it just can’t be from even a 4th round pick this year IMO. Unless FA is crazy productive.    I’ll give Bryce a better than bottom rating for his playoff game. Well above low twenties. But at least half of his games were bottom third level. Probably 2/3 to 3/4 of them were.
