It seemed like such an obvious hole in their OL plans that they just didn't address. I mean, they even hedged on LT because od those struggles but then they just decide an oft injured veteran with almost no experience at C is just gonna be the guy? Also, with literally almost no backup???

I couldn't wrap my head around that at all.

If we don't have at least serviceable play at center, the guard signings are not going to be as effective.  I assumed they would draft one.

You and most logical fans. One of the reasons I really did not like our draft.

But, we gotta be used to FO flubs at this point as Panthers fans. It's been our MO in recent memory for sure.

Who was the last project player to work out for us?  Thomas Davis and that even took a few years

Not a great comp, as TD was changing positions and needed to bulk up.

I'm not saying I think this kid's going to come in and be a day one starter, but I think we're going to see some splash plays as they work him in. My hope is towards the end of the year, he's seeing 30 to 40% of the snaps.

I for sure understand what people are saying about oversight at the C position. I don’t know any more than anyone else, but believe  pros should be given *some* leeway. We have seen zero results you can only wait and see. Like the QB that has given us poo for results over his first season.

You can’t go with a WR and ignore the QB but really, do people see anyone breaking out there? Maybe Brooks if the OL gels and he is healthy.

I’m just going with Corbett. He does the job. Problem solved. If the O works it is because the OL works. If this OL works, he is doing better than anyone here thought.

I am going completely opposite and say that Hubbard hits the ground running (pun intended) and never looks back. He establishes himself as a true starter, and by mid-season we have the re-emergence of Smash and Dash!

ESPN currently has Jonathan Brooks ranked #20 amongst RB's for 2024....seems wild to me but that would be amazing.  Mainly because of our current RB room and his knee recovery more so than personal potential.

that has to be fantasy football projections and not actual

    • I could be waaaaaaay off about Kon. I do fault myself into, to borrow a NFL phrase heavily "RAS" nerd on players, too much. There are PLENTY of athletic freak shows that are playing overseas(or Amazon delivery) cause they never figured out NBA ball. I can easily miss seeing the talent. Plus did he only have 2 dunks on the season??(is that for real??) I didn't watch over a few hours of duke, but not one point did I think "That Kon guy is a top 4 pick in the upcoming draft". IMO I still foresee Ball bringing the ball up, doing his weak isolation game and never even looking for Kon. That's his best trait according to everyone, shooting right? I do not see ball, bridges, miller or even williams making the extra pass to Kon for him to shoot a 3.  Then defense-wise, Im not ready to type the amount of questions I foresee in his ability for guarding NBA SGs or bench SFs for that matter. Not that NBA players care to defend, but still..... I just feel he's a bad fit for the current hornets, trades are taking place tho... Liam to me is a decent comp for Kon and he fell some, but was a 29 overall pick. Still around 13-21 was the good solid range for Liam and I thought the same for Kon. This is just a classic case of I need to see it. It add to this, Kon is like garlic. Ball is like sugar and Miller is like flour. Mix it together and chef Lee is not going to get me to eat that dish..... Honestly I don't know why Im this vocal about Kon. In past years I would be patience and not post and see what the kid has. The other side, insert classic white boy terms here- _____, ______, _______< etc >. Hornets do desperately need them. His crafty back door cuts, his willingness to stay a extra 2 hours to refine lees plays, keep playing with bruised limbs. I heard from many reports he's mentally tough and hornets by all gods need that. God they are such pussys.  I hope Im wrong and if so, I will give Kon his just props.
