The "bottom of the roster churn" comment was what Fitterer used to say.

They need to worry about getting quality starters and backups in place instead of worrying about churning the bottom of the roster. The names may have changed, but it appears the FO's mindset hasn't.

Exactly. I get that you want to churn that part of the roster because it helps you continue to try and develop talent and improve depth. That's understandable.

However, you might want to improve your two deep first because it looks ROUGH.

Heeeeere's Danny:

My spin:

Expectations don't sound too high. Just thinking about taking things day by day, working the plan.

Believes in Bryce (sounds real, but still coach-speak). Thinks he has all the tools to succeed in the league. Morgan did have a "we'll see" pertaining to Bryce.

His philosophy is to churn the bottom of the roster.

The best teams are player-driven, including the team culture. They've drafted high character guys.

Hard Knocks do what it do. There were more phone calls on the Burns trade than they showed. It's good for fans.

Media/fans may be sleeping on D.J. Johnson.

Like I said...lots of believable coach-speak, but I have a gut feeling that there will be real competition for spots. I get the sense that Morgan is keen on adding upgrades from the waiver wire. I'd look for us to upgrade at least the CB position if not the EDGE.

Thanks for the summation. I like Dan and hope for the best but damn he's boring up there brutal to listen to

came in here to finally see some panthers talk, same ol we suck, bryce sucks, everything sucks…

yawn

The team let go of most of its talent for various reasons and really hasn't replaced it yet despite a multi year rebuild that started under Rhule. The team hasn't had a winning season in years and is coming off a 2 win season. So, yeah, they suck. The GM isn't a great public speaker and doesn't excite people either. What else do you expect?

    • Taking only players from the sheet that are realistically available in or after the listed round, I’d like… 1st: DT Caleb Banks (Styles not realistic) 2nd: LB Jacob Rodriguez 3rd: OT Best available from Bowry, Barber, and Casey 4th: CB Daylen Everette 5th: S Jalen Huskey 6th: RB Adam Randall 7th: IOL Best available from Lemieux, Dawkins, Leausa, and Brose   I know nothing about some of the players listed, but it seems like that would be the best way it could fall for now. I’m sure the list of who we meet will change a ton, and there will also be players we don’t meet with to keep quiet. I’d love to pick up Randall in the late rounds.
    • Not what I said. They know within the building why we aren't utilizing TEs more. If the rumors were true that we were seriously pursuing a couple of decent receiving TEs that strongly points toward a lack of quality receiving TEs currently on the roster. Does that mean we consider drafting one at 19? I don't know, but it wouldn't shock me and if we did there's only one guy it would be. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see TE drafting somewhere in the first three rounds.
    • Yeah, I don’t know. Tepper was behind the Bryce selection. Behind firings and hiring over his lack of development.  He doesn’t have to literally tell them their hands are tied for them to know this. It is in the air constantly. The Canales Bryce play calling was even portrayed by more than one person as Canales failing Bryce, instead of Bryce being responsible for his own performance (except when he does well, then it is all him). Now they have an extra coach in, to help the new OC get results from this QB.  The atmosphere is not welcoming to prototypical young QBs that have talent. You get Jake Plummer types or old vets. I think we are stuck.
