RB Jonathan Brooks will not be ready to play until a month into the season

You got to figure the offense, 1st time HC and OC,  won’t really be a well oiled machine the first few weeks so...

DeShaun Foster was pretty good for the Panthers as a 2nd round guy that lost his entire first season.

That’s as positive as I’ve got.

Not surprised.  In fact, I hope they take their time and ensure he is 100% before he sees the field.  IMO, his selection was always about what he might do for us next season and for a few years after that.

Yeah, the expectations this season should be very low. He still has to get the confidence back in his knee which is likely to take whatever portion of the season he actually plays.

2025 is his first year, IMO.

Picking a RB coming off an ACL in the second round for a team that needs practically everything was such a head scratching luxury pick.

JPJ was right there for the taking and would have solidified the center position for 10+ years and would have contributed instantly.

Instead, we're already struggling with botched snaps in practice and getting bullied up the middle already

RB is the cherry on top of the sundae and we got super excited to get a [bruised up] cherry to put on top of our steaming pile of dog poo.

Oh and don't forget, we traded 3 picks for him

The Carolina Panthers traded picks no. 52, 142, and 155 to acquire the 46th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft from the Indianapolis Colts

    • In last 25 years I’d say the 2001 Panthers were 1-15 & went to Super Bowl 38 in 2003. Drafted Dan Morgan, Kris Jenkins and Steve Smith in ‘01…already had Moose, Minter and Rucker.  ‘02 drafted Peppers Deshaun Foster. Picked up Stephen Davis Ricky Proehl and Jake Delhomme in the following ‘03 offseason while drafting Jordan Gross & Ricky Manning Jr.  John Fox was a solid coaching hire for the era prior to defensive rule changes. Saying I’ve seen it happen, also acknowledging how much has to go right for that to occur.  Highly unlikely scenario but possible.
    • Agree it was a bad loss, but there were only 45 states the last time that defense gave up that many to Vandy. 35 points has been enough to beat them for almost 120 years. That said I'm now focused on how he responds on the field. He's said all the right things, but now I need to see that he won't go into the fetal position with his play--both in his will and the coach's trust in him. He turned the ball over on the ground and through the air and his pick six was literally the difference between a win and loss.  If he goes back to beast mode, then all is good and he's still a 1st rounder. If he wills them back to the playoff, he's probably in the top 10-15. If they win the title, the bigger question will be if Tep has the onions to take another Bama QB at #1.
    • Go right ahead, but there's a better way to be that doesn't add to the hostility in the world.
