I also wouldn't mind seeing Plummer get a couple games.  I know.  Preseason.  Against backups.  But he did show improvement.  If he even turns into a serviceable backup, that would be amazing.

That list of FA's is bad.  Like.  Real bad.  Dalton might be the best of them, unless Darnold has figured it out after hanging out with Kyle Shanahan and Kevin O'Connell.

The list is bad, but someone can always get cut before FA. They should be one or two other options by TC next year…they might not be any better but you never know.

Russell Wilson is the only one clearly better than Dalton. He is also the least likely to come here and the least likely for us to afford.

I would say that list shows that we really better nail the QB in the coming draft.

Would be a reconnect opportunity for Canales. Russ doesn’t need much money. He is still getting paid by Denver.

Don't give him a signing bonus. There is talk that this lingering calf thing is possibly a precursor to an achilles issue. The person cited a couple of other players as precedents but I wasn't really paying attention can't say which guys.

Someone with achilles issues though, that started out as calf irritation, inflammation, something like that.

It comes from a guy doing a Pittsburgh focused youtube thing, maybe last night. I wouldn't bet money on it but it might be something.

He could develop. He has the big arm, frame, and the physical make up for sure. I mentioned Mason Rudolph earlier for this. (6ft 5/ 235lbs). He did really well in a terrible Matt Canada offense for years but I think he got a bad wrap because he had to follow up Roethlisberger after all those years. He's also a SC native and about the same age as Geno and Baker when Dave got them on track.

    • Then why are they paying QBs so much compared to other players? QB are making so much it's harder and harder to pay other players. If a guy plays like 1 of 11 then there pay should be in line with that. Not all QB should be breaking the bank just because your next or a former 1st rounder There is a reason they say try to win it all on a QB rookie deal because after that they can cripple a team on what it can do. I would rather not do that for a bottom 1/3 QB. Cam and Jake have been the only QBs worth investing long term into this team has had I would rather not lower the bar. If a guy don't got the IT factor and it shows I would rather not invest long term into them and keep looking
    • Aho…come out and prove me wrong boy.
    • I mean, I hear what y'all are saying, but Derrick could have been positive without being negative.  He essentially accused people of not seeing Bryce's improvement because of their desire to not be wrong. He could've kept it about Bryce and the team. For example, he could've said: "Bryce has made strides, and we believe in him. This coming season, his continued improvement will turn a lot of people into believers."  That would've been supportive of his teammate and sent a message to the doubters. That being said, his tact almost summoned and left the door ajar for more skepticism. That's my take anyway. Bryce has improved from the bottom to perhaps skirting the line between the bottom third and mid-third at best...after three seasons. We've all seen it. Yay! In my mind, Bryce has still got a long way to go and a short time to get there, but my expectations are top five--at least top 10--always! Yes, I am a fan, so there's that, but I don't believe it's unreasonable to expect excellence. Hopefully the Panthers FO has the same mindset (and that doesn't even necessarily have anything to do with what we gave up to acquire him). That is the lens I'm looking through. Derrick Brown has his homer glasses on. He just needs to be more diplomatic and thoughtful with his words in my opinion, but I get it that he's a good teammate.
