This Andy Dalton/Dave Canales is legit

I'm wondering if "reclamation" project QBs might be the perfect archetype for this Canales offense. Having someone out there with nothing to lose really seems to fit the gun-slinging Farvesque play we've been seeing the past two weeks. Whatever it is, it is fun to watch and I'm enjoying watching for the first time in the Tepper era.

Let Bryce sit the rest of the season. Please.

Canales is legit and so is Dalton, but let's be honest the real miss is Darnold/Wilks.

I'm gonna laugh my ass off if Darnold wins league MVP. He's scorching the NFL right now.

Kevin O’Connell and JJ are a big reason for his success

Darnold is the type that would have success in a Canales offense as well

Darnold has had some very lucky moments this year. When the play breakdown he still makes some boneheaded decisions. Both Darnold and Fields have been able to play with the lead most of the year. We’ll see what Sam looks like when he starts pressing and the Vikes are trailing

And there’s goes Fields making a mess on 3rd and 10 play pressing

I suspect same thing will happen with Sam when they starting losing

I was thinking the same.
If you can field a winning team without needing to pay elite QB money bc you can groom them up, that would be amazing.

2 minute drill got exposed though. Need to work on that.

And last week it kicked ass. Go figure. Sure, it all needs work and probably the first game trying to replace the glue that was Thielen, that may be a factor.

You got stuff out of place and a 2nd year plus a rookie being moved up in the depth chart.

    • Sam Darnold was the 2018 QB. Not Mayfield, Allen, or Jackson. Firing Rhule was the key. Wilks, Darnold, CMC, Rico, TMac, Moore, and Coker would have gotten the job done. Toss in all the extra picks wasted on day one and day 2 project players, and the Panthers have a top defense too.
    • That’s if you draft the wrong quarterback. Patriots aren’t having to do that. They are straight in year two.  I suppose you could argue that they did draft the wrong one and then built like you said.  The difference is, if that were the case, they moved on from their mistake. That’s what I am thinking about that.
    • Yeah. That start to his career was about as bad as it can get. In New York, Meat grinder press corps, of the first degree,    When he came here he was on OC 3 - in year 3.  And people in this fan base that think they are smart, could not take that stuff into account.  Now, most of the smart ones are not Bryce Stans but Bryce gets 4 damned years free pass. At least 3  The fail of the organization AND fan base in general, fuging shamefully short sighted,  And the choking thing, players have to fail before they succeed. With very few exceptions. Last year was really his first meaningful, high stakes game. Okay, he didn’t play well. They learn from that, or are supposed to. You don’t throw out a guy with all those tools and with his rocky did him no favors background for not being perfect right away.  He might suck in the SB, but he proved a ton this year.    If we’d have had any patience he was the guy to use it on, not Bryce Young.
