If We Ended Up with Pick #1, Who Do You Beleive the PANTHERS would draft?

Right now we have the #1 pick.

If the season ended right now? I think the Panthers would draft Shedeur Sanders or Cam Ward. It's just too apparent that Bryce + Andy aren't the answer at QB.

Not exactly what I would want. Which would be to trade down and rebuild the defense.  Maybe get QB in mid-late rounds.

It’s kind of a young offensive core in XL, Coker, Brooks, and JT to grow behind a decent vet OL. Not the worst idea. We need to spend some money on defense in FA and other picks. I wouldn’t mind bring in a vet WR like Godwin as well to help a young QB plus he knows DC’s offense already.

Can Ward is probably the best QB prospect this year. I’d take him if they can’t trade down. Sit him at first and let a veteran start the first 6-8 games unless the team pops off like the Vikings did with Darnold (unlikely on this trash franchise).

if they trade down, take BPA then take a boom bust QB in the second round

Everyone pretty much assumes Arch will end up #1 in 26 but looking at it right now looks like slim pickings after him.  If you don’t have the #1 pick you might be left with your pants down so to speak

Huh?  The '26 draft might end up being almost as deep as the '24 draft.  THIS draft is the slim pickings one.  No generational talent and 2-3 dudes that look pretty good.  That's it.

I was referring specifically to the QBs.  But yeah, it’s a ways off. I feel like the Tennessee quarterback Nico has fallen off big time lately.  Some other quarterbacks will definitely emerge.

I do agree the 25 draft is subpar with talent

Also remember, in the age of NIL, underclassmen aren't as in a hurry to declare as they used to be.  So some of the Juniors like Milroe, Allar, Nussmeir, Moss and Weigman (RSo) are likely to stay in college.  I think these guys still have an eligible year from COVID too.

Only your redshirt seniors will certainly declare.  Ward, Ewers, Howard and Gabriel--Rouke (GR).  A few interesting true seniors., but purely as depth like Dart, McCord, Leonard and Rogers.  I'm not sure if Sanders has any years left, but if he does, I bet he stays to help his dad continue to build that Buffs program.  That family doesn't need the money in any hurry.

Weigman probably gonna transfer after last week. Might have lost his job lol.

If you feel like one of the QBs have a chance to be the man, you have to keep swinging until you land a franchise signal caller. So far, I see the most potential in Sanders. Cam Ward is having a good year, but I haven’t seen him play since last season. Hopefully, both of them are viable options. Beck has good size, but doesn’t seem to have the special intangibles to me.

All good points but Sanders is a senior and he would come out anyway.  Possibly #1 pick.  With he and Hunter leaving I could see Deion maybe coaching 1 more season but he will bail IMO in the next few

I want them to trade down and draft all defense (generally speaking).

we have a good OL.  We have young skill talent all over the map we are supposed to be developing.  We should go out and rent a good vet QB.  That should be the play.

Go tell Deion to drive up our draft haul with another team.  Deion going to make a big fuss when the dust settles this season and sees us at #1.

    • I would write “give remmers tight end help” on a yellow sticky note and stuck it in shulas playbook the night before superbowl 50.
    • And don’t worry about Bryce he will be great… Peyton Manning had a horrible rookie year too 😂
    • Nothing wrong with it at all until you start telling others they are bad fans or not fans. But you are the good fan because you never say negative stuff about the team.    I did many years of that type of uninformed fanning because there really was no info and coverage like there is with the internet.    I mean, I used to go to the store and get Street and Smith’s annual football issue. That was about the extent of what you could get if you didn’t live in a big city with sportswriters covering and reporting.  There was no video to look at or replay the games and if you didn’t live in the market you could only rarely see your football team play.    TI have fanned since being a kid in the early 1960s, and as late as 1995 - ‘97 I lived in Atlanta and good luck getting more than 3 or 4 games a year on TV. No radio either. No print coverage outside of an AP recap and box unless they played Atlanta.  People today that have always had the network connection don’t know.    I wasn’t very educated about the Panthers until I finally got internet.
