I do wonder if Dionate & his agent just came forth to Carolina and said "trade me". Essentially quit on the team, showed up to practice in shorts, and simultaneously tanked his value on top of the rumors of being a diva.

Diontae was a one year rental that would've been kept only if we made a notable turnaround this year. We haven't. Temperament speculation aside, he's been banged up quite a bit already this season, another issue he had with the Steelers. Of course you try to get something for him now, even if it's just moving up on the draft board.

I expect Morgan to try and save face on getting value with whoever is next.

Yep, it was obvious he was their only option.

They now have to stick with him and Canales for another two years minimum to have a shot at repairing Tepper’s reputation and the teams ability to recruit talent.

Those first 2 games of the season killed any chance of him staying.
