From twitter:

When you trace the total transaction, this is insane. Panthers trade: Donte Jackson, Diontae Johnson and a 6th round pick. Panthers Receive: a 5th round pick.

Yes indeed. More of the same loss-leader deals we've become famous for in the NFL. Of course, this doesn't compare at all to the total cost of what was paid for the privilege of drafting Bust Young, but business remains good overall.

People getting upset about this trade expected wayyyy too much. We had no leverage. What did yall expect?

honestly this should have been expected.

Stefon Diggs literally just announced a torn ACL like 5 minutes before we made the trade. I woulda been like yeah Ravens let me call you back.....

This franchise is cooked lol

correct me if I’m wrong if we had let him walk would the comp pick have not been more valuable ?

Possibly, but you don’t get comp picks if we go FA shopping which I think is a given we must do this offseason for the defense. So most likely no, we would have gotten zero from a comp pick

    • I did not want to start or even think about *if* BY reverts back to pre-non last 9 games.   There is a lane in which Panthers are looking QB after this season, I feel its higher than most will realize. I mean....not kidding... has any team ever traded up to 1st overall twice in the teams history? I don't even want to think within 3 years, just foresee Tepper squeezing Dans and Brandts sacs to the point were they are forced to trade up for a another savior.....   The kicker is I feel this way with BY playing good-great..... I think there with be non-fixable problems for contract negotiations between BY&reps vs Panthers org on the whole. You can not pay 50+ million per over few years with 70% guarantees for 3,303 yards 15 TDs and 9 INTs......Cursed I tell you....
    • It's not surprising, but it's still surprising that many of these guys don't manage their money in such a way that provides them and their families a better lifestyle than most for the rest of their lives without even working a nine-to-five. I can't imagine making over a 100 mil for a decade and ultimately ruminating about supporting my family due to financial issues.
    • That why i mentioned the KC dynasty. Those three different playoff loses were not Allens fault, in fact 1-2 plays and Bills win. KC just have better players and better coaches and more luck.  Defense-wise, Bills have been trying to crack the Reid-Halhomes magic. Its near impossible with rules and KC home field advantage. Spags has started to force the league in naming him the best DC in NFL history. I agree if you take away Bill bielacheat.... Add in Andy Reid the best QB coach and brilliant play designer/play-caller, I mean that's too much for one QB to over-come on his own.  Just trolling or not, bad is bad scot. Allen is legit as any one QB has ever been.
