But playing against the Giants does help statistically.  

Bears offensive line is much worse and the defense couldn’t do anything. Morgan is building the right way but 2025 draft class needs to hit on both sides

Bears offensive line may be worse, but their offense overall is better.  Statistically, the Giants offense is the worst in the NFL.  

But as I said, it was still a good showing. In truth, the defense has played better overall the last few weeks.  I thought they played well against the Saints at least in terms of the pass defense.  The run defense still needs a lot of work.

Wonnum looked good against the pass and the run, and that was exciting to see. Weak opponents sure, but he looked great for his first game back after all his setbacks this year. Makes a massive difference for Clowney as well as teams can’t only focus on him.

I don’t know about that we have young really good WRs and a up and coming stud TE on rookie deals, compared DJ Moore making big time money Keenan Allen eating up cap on the last year of his deal. Cole Kemet makes 12 mil a year compared to 1 mill a year for JT. If Brooks is anything close to his college days him and Chubba will be dynamic for a very small price overall as far as cap implications are concerned. Our line is way better then theirs I don’t know what you’re seeing but insert a QB and we’re a very good offense at a very manageable price where we’ll be able to add pieces because we have so many rookie contract major contributors. I think our offense is way better then Chicago especially moving forward the next 2-3 years.

My bad lol you mean Bears compared to Giants I thought you meant compared to us.

Wonnum was great yesterday.  Exactly what the defense needs right now.

 

Morgan needs to stay patient and stick with the youth movement.  Keep adding young hungry guys and let them compete.

      He makes a good point about Wallace.  In fairness to Wallace it is hard to play your position as freely as you need to when your defensive line is getting pushed around like ragdolls.  One of the greatest attributes a defensive line has is sucking up blocks, freeing up your linebackers.  Our defensive line couldn't suck up a lollipop more or less blocks.  I think Evans, Sanders and Tremble are going to be a really nice TE group.  I can see all three getting time on the field.  If Sanders can improve as a blocker teams won't be so inclined to believe it is a pass play whenever Sanders is on the field.  Ryan Fitzgerald, I think was an awesome pick-up. Hopefully he can fill our kicker void. Luke Kandra many turn out to be our next Norwell.  Everything I have heard about him says he's a beast.  He needs some refinement, but the good news is he's got Hunt and Lewis (arguably the best guard tandem in the league) to learn from.

      Great teams build through the draft and have several young players that start that are on rookie contracts. It's important to hit on players in rounds 4 thru 7.  These should be future starters and solid depth.  When you hit on most of your picks you free up a lot of cap space for those one- or two-year players to fill spots you are thin at. No GM is going to perfect on all their picks.  You're going to whiff every once in a while.  That was Hurney problem.  He'd nail the first pick but after that it was reach after reach and we couldn't get any depth on this team. I'm excited about Morgan as our GM and hopefully he'll be around a long time.  It will be even better if Canales can continue to grow as a head coach, both in the development of young players and play calling. I remember last season after Young came back in the lineup and started to perform well.  We saw different plays I had only seen other teams use.   If Canales's play design and play calling continue to grow. Morgan and Canales will be linked together for a long time.  It would be nice to see a Coach and GM together for a decade or two. Go Panthers
