I mean, a lot of the random poo that gets thrown at Caleb was also thrown at Cam.

I don't care about much of this. Same with his being upset on the sidelines. There were so many, "CAM IS A POUTY LITTLE BITCH" threads in here it was nuts. Winners hate losing. I don't want people that accept losing well. Also has a big problem with playing hero ball like Cam.

So, for those reasons, I am not gonna jump on the badwagon of crucifixion of the guy for pretty football irrelevant reasons.

People unfortunately still do this today towards Cam.

Eberflus is just delaying his own inevitable firing. Williams has the physical attributes to succeed but needs some maturity in the worst way.

for the most part, QB play in the NFL is a between the ears thing.   Pending you meet a certain level of physical check marks.

Rumor is that some Bears players thought Williams should be benched as opposed to Waldron being fired.

True? Don't know. Plausible? Yeah.

Either way, given their prior connections It's not exactly hard to imagine Waldron becoming a part of Dave Canales' Panthers staff in some role.

(heck, I'd be for it)

Its almost as if rookie quarterbacks shouldn't be thrown into the fire from the beginning.

    • He was saying Ron hid when he was cut/traded whatever that was.  I get being resentful, and feeling like that was gutless.  He, and Ron, neither are from the ‘breaking up with someone in a text or email is okay’ generation. That avoidance is seen as a lack of character.  Talking about it on camera how many years later? Why? And it is all one sided he said she said stuff. As he is speaking I am thinking well I bet that ain’t the whole story.    Between this type of stuff and him cheating on the wife stuff some of his shine is wearing off.
    • I was very critical of Ron Rivera as a coach for a range of reasons. But Steve Smith has been playing the victim for years now and it's just not working anymore. We know for a fact that he was disgruntled from the moment we drafted Cam Newton because of his own ego. That says more about him than anything he could say about Rivera. And yes Ron Rivera had a lot of faults. No excuses for it. We were right to move on from him. But ultimately Steve Smith couldn't hold it together with that group the same as he struggled to hold it together under previous regimes. He needs to grow up and accept his own role in the last few years of his Panthers career because there are things he could and should have done differently the same as anyone else. Stop seeking to only shift blame to everyone else and evolve or just stop talking and fade away. This isn't helping anyone and it is certainly not helping his image.
    • A friend of mine was involved in building Steve Smith's house and nearly came to blows with him during the process.  Love Smitty as a player, but I've heard very little good about him as a human being.
