Found your post from the alternative dimension where we drafted Ladd and he was catching passes from BY.

Ladd's been a little disappointing too, but overall that Chargers offense kinda stinks.  They are a Harbaugh offense through and through.  Run the ball and don't score too many points.

Ok drop it down to 220 yards per game and that is a top 20 QB. And if you think asking for that from your first overall pick is too much an ask then you don't have a QB.

It's ALOT of vets on that list It's like it kinda took them some time to get to that point but I may be tripping lol

It’s weird that they changed all these rules and adjusted the way refs work a game to get more offense and while scoring is up, passing is down.

Defenses are playing two deep safeties and taking away the passing chunk plays.  Teams have undervalued the running backs so much that I think teams have gotten too one dimensional and the teams that can run the ball will be more effective this year

Look forward to our prize RB next week. We could be set for a long time on offense. We can focus on drafting Defense.

uh..... no.

I'm sure people will take this as me just pushing to draft T-Mac still, but it's not, we BADLY need a true outside #1 WR, whether it's my guy or someone else, it's a HUGE need, especially since we're not going to have an elite QB next year, we need to get the pass catching options to improve our QB play, no matter who that ends up being.

I love the potential of XL and even Coker, but if you would take your Panthers fandom goggles off for a moment and look at it objectively, our two leading returning WRs for next season hav 284 and 263 yards through 10 games.

I don't care how good or bad the QB play is, that's a bottom 5 WR room in the NFL, if even that high.  Off the top of my head, the Browns, Patriots, and Raiders are the only teams with a worse WR situation going into next year as of right now (there could be others, but I haven't actually thought about it).

XL's ceiling is likely as a lower end #1, but that would make him an elite #2.  I've likened him more as the Waddle/Higgins than the Tyreek/Chase (in terms of role as the Robin to Batman, not style of play)

Coker, while we all think he can turn into something, is nowhere near good enough to go into next season as our #2 to XL's #1.  Realistically XL should be the #2 with Coker being the #3, and that still could be asking a lot from Coker at this point in his career.

In today's NFL, you're not going to win many games with below average QB play and XL/Coker as your top two WRs, it's nowhere near good enough to be competitive over the course of a season.

That and so many top tier WRs have had major injuries.

I've noticed that. You see more 25 total passes than 35. It seems the average passing yards are are 200 ypg around the league. Strange times we are living in.

    • He doesn't need to play in 2025. And maybe not 2026 either from what I've read. This is but one peer-reviewed selection:    "A devastating complication of returning to sport following ACL reconstruction (ACLR) is a second ACL injury. Strong evidence now indicates that younger, more active athletes are at particularly high risk for a second ACL injury and this risk is greatest within the first two years following ACLR." https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC5226931/     Regarding your first question... "The optimal timing of ACLR is an important clinical decision that affects patient outcomes significantly. Even though there is no consensus in the literature, there are some trends regarding timing of ACLR. Various authors suggest that ACLR be performed at least 3 weeks after injury in order to avoid arthrofibrosis. More important than time alone, objective criteria including perioperative swelling, edema, hyperthermia, and ROM are important indicators of when surgery should be performed." https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4004131/#:~:text=The optimal timing of ACLR is an important clinical decision,in order to avoid arthrofibrosis.
    • Not sure I would be so sure they feel worse than us - their QB was better than Bryce at in the first season, they got DJ Moore, and 2 more high caliber draft picks.  We had to give up basically our entire defense this season indirectly to make that happen and we still have no true #1 WR.  Not saying I would rather have Caleb over Bryce at this point - but I would rather have their team situation and draft picks hands down.
    • A lot of people think this draft is weak at QB--I think, after the first five picks of the first round, there are a ton of developmental QBs who could develop into the role--here is the psychology behind it--Bryce becomes the mentor--you can learn as much by teaching others than by being taught.   It also makes him a true leader.  But I think there are a few QB in this draft that might not be ready now, but in 2 years, could be NFL starting QBs--Howard, Rourke, Ewers, Milroe, Dart, etc.  Talk about a cheaper backup and one that could evolve into trade capital--or if Bryce can't find consistency-his replacement.  Round 3 will have some of these qbs--maybe early day 3.
