With the game on the line this didn't feel like we were the Bills lol. I will concede the defense played like poo all day vs a KC team that look like they didn't take the game seriously at first. I hope for all my heart the Chiefs fall apart as well, I can't stand this poo after the Patriots run, I just want a different team to win the Super Bowl every year. Not this bandwagon poo

Those multiple field goals are because we're a young team still figuring it out. The red zone is the toughest puzzle in the game.

I've got a bit more hope than I had before for this bunch. Kinda nice feeling that way. It has been a minute or two since we've had reason for optimism.

The bottom lines to me are that a) we played well enough to beat the best team in the league and b) Bryce Young is growing into a bridge QB role (his ceiling) for us. As much as I don't want BY around after the season, it seems DC can still build the O with a game manager at QB for now.

Best case scanario, we can build the D through the draft this year and take a QB we have conviction outside the 1st this or next draft. If BY keeps improving, we are going to win a couple more games this year.

Except Bryce was the main reason we were in it

That's pretty nuts.  Bryce really made some throws, like crazy throws, even if they were dropped our resulted in a DPI.  Like on the one that led to the final TD and the 1st 2pt attempt.  I was like "WTF is he thinking...oh well that worked out!"

I super happy to be Bryce developing right now.  Now, can he become a winner?  That is the greatest question for us.  The more I read about this QB class, the more meh I am about it.  I'd MUCH rather draft defensive help than hope and pray someone outperforms Bryce.  a

Both Bryce and Canales need to continue to grow and develop.  I think year two for them will be much more telling (wow, way to go out on a limb d-dAVE...).

At the end of the day, we were feisty and competitive against a team everyone thought was going to pound us into the dirt below our turf field.  I'll take that this year.

I don't know about you but I have been a life long Chiefs fan for the past 4 years.

The negative Nancy in me (or objective?) says that they had a bye week to prepare for the Chiefs. However, it’s one thing to have a good plan and it’s another to actually execute it. For all the flack he’s received (from me as well), Bryce seemingly has put his head down and worked his tail off and his play is giving me hope. The first 18-game Bryce showed no progression whatsoever. He gets benched, comes back, and has shown steady progress every week he has started. I think I’m starting to see what the Bryce lovers and unconditional defenders were saying all along, and I hope he can show that on a regular basis for the sake of our QB1 position.

Bryce has improved in the deep passing game, but moreso in those intermediate throws that are 15-20 yards down field. He was very accurate on them yesterday and made some very nice throes. And that 30 yarder was just flat dropped, or this chart would look even better.

Many of us are still concerned on if the physical tools are there, but at least there's progress... And meaningful progress, taking the defending champs down to the wire, tieing the game late. Real nice job by him yesterday.

It didn’t feel like we’re the Bills bc we’re not a consistent conference contender yet we’re a rebuilding team. But with the game on the line we played just like the Bills went straight down the field and scored a tuddy then converted a 2pt conversion I have to give credit where credit is due. And the chiefs played us like we were the Bills in an AFC championship game, drive down the field and kicked a walk off FG to win at the end very similar to me. Are saying our defense stunk yesterday? Vs an elite offense team with elite coaching an elite QB man idk what you want them to do. KC does these things to the best defenses in the league consistently to win AFC chips and Super Bowls let’s not devalue who they are. I saw us play KC to the wire and barely lose defense did its thing as much as it could.

Bingo!!! We’re also forgetting how injured we’ve been defensively this year, yes we need to build up the D but adding a few pieces and D Browns successful rehab should make us a very strong unit again. Couple that with the offense we saw yesterday and we’re winning our division.

    • Biiiiiig eyeroll on this.  First, Look at historical stats of the most recent historical great DBs.  I plucked 3, Revis, Sherman, and Norman (cuzz he was our guy).  Combined post age 30, there are TWO pro bowls between those 3 and wanna get this...ZERO seasons with 16 games started.  ALL missed time.  It is RARE that Corners survive that long in the NFL and its about time we started recognizing this fact.  Jaycee is a good bet because it hasnt been anything seriously devastating injury wise, and with his sample size he could and should be an incredible piece for the panthers through age 30. Jaire kinda flops on the other side, hes 28...so hes under 30, but he wants his payday before it comes up, hes also been injury prone lately.  Bulk of the contract will be on opposite side of 30.  Will both of these guys help us be better in 2026?  SURE!  No doubt, but the question is, will these guys help us past 2026...not sure. The investment isnt worth the risk, nor would the ROI be anywhere close to worth it.  Neither guy is moving us from a 6-8 win team to a 8-10 team, period. My point is we're in this state a 6-8 win team IMO and he projects us as  a 4-6 win team.  EVEN if we think Jaire or Ramsey will make us a 6-8 win team, it in NO WAY is worth the money or capital to move that much just to suck kinda less.
    • I assumed he was retiring but apparently he plans on playing multiple more seasons.  Florida is gonna have trouble holding onto everyone.  Happens to all teams that have that much success.
    • I hate Marchand, but if he became a free agent.....
