So what's the plan with Moton?

So this is our currently salary cap situation if we keep Moton (I have pre-emptively cut Miles and Dane Jackson FYI) as is next year:

And then this is our salary cap if we cut all the oldies including Moton:

We can get another 8-9 mill from extending Horn.

We could also sign Moton to an extension, but is that wise?

So what say you? Go all in on our young core and get young replacements with the cap space or keep rolling with the old guys like Moton? The only UFA's im even pressed to bring back is BC (especially if you use your out on Moton) and Mike Jackson.

I'd extend Moton 2-3 years. Lord knows we should realize that good OTs don't grow on trees.

Yeah I def want to extend him another year and let this Oline stay in tact. With low 40’s to spend and Tillis being the man I expect to see 3-4 solid signings.  If he does that and Morgan has another solid draft watch out for us!

Until he starts showing signs of age/injury you keep him around for sure. Not sure I’d extend this year tho, may just eat it and give ourselves flexibility for 26

You keep him. You don't mess around with the OL if it's good.

Add to the OL. Don't subtract.

I’ve seen tackles play well into their 30s.  Moton has taken care of himself, no reason to get rid of one of our best linemen ever.

Yeah, extend it is. I would love a team friendly extension, keep the O-line intact while you build up the D-line and don't get fancy. Solid. Bring back Mayes or draft his brother at C.

Moton has been one of our most consistent players through all of the bad times. He is a professional and knows how to take care of business, I would try to extend him and keep him for the consistency and leadership. If any player deserves it, it's Moton.

I'm going to be the odd man out here but whatever. 

You get rid of him. He's already older than Kawaan short when he started falling apart.

He's a fan favorite and this franchise has the worst luck with resigning guys like this and then they ride IR for 2-3 years. If he was 3 years younger than sure. Realistically, he probably only has 1-2 good years left before he starts to decline. 

Put Christensen there, or slide Ekwonu over and draft a real LT not an overrated Guard.

We need to do him like the Chargers did Okung. They were about the same age btw.

You can probably ride with his contract into next year but, I would bail after that.

Deserves to take up cap room when they are a risk or decline or injury? Yeah, this is a Panthers forum.

Let's lock up Shaq on 5 year 100 million dollar deal too since he's such a swell fella and been around so long.

Shaq has been injury prone and not played up to his contract, Shaq should be cut loose. Where has Moton's play dropped off? O-line men have longer careers compared to linebackers. Everybody is a risk for injury, look at Derrick Brown after giving him all that money, so we shouldn't extend Brown because he might get injured?
