Is Legette going to take football serious or just enjoy being a meme?

Here is what i do not get--Morgan says, "We gonna get some DAWGS."  XL has gifts, size, speed, but Morgan's first draft pick--the one he traded up for-- is not a dawg.  I want him to do well, but he needs to be the alpha and take it to the defensive back.  It is not just about being physical, but it is a mindset that makes you think you are the best player on the field--that the others are scared of you--it is not about running your mouth--it is between the ears.  I think he will be better by next year.  Forget the accent--forget the Possum pudding--get your frigging head right and start thinking that every ball in the air is your next touchdown.

I am not sure how many of the guys in that draft matched that "dawgs" description, TBH. I think we did a decent job adding some of those guys in free agency but it seemed pretty light on that mentality in the draft. Seemed like more of the same Fitterer/Rhule RAS guys.

That’s even worse. He lacks self awareness. If he was an all rookie WR, then sure post your weird squirrel videos. But since he was a huge let down, a lot of people don’t want to see him broadcasting himself eating road kill.  Too bad he doesn’t have the same passion for posting videos of him hitting the jugs machine and improving himself on the football field.

I wouldn't say he was a huge let down and I don't think most fans feel that way.

Exactly, and it’s even more important as a WR.

I don’t know what to think about dude. I like that he’s country, but I see far more content about his life than I do about his career. Which one is more important to him?

I have had several people from other fanbases talk about him when I say I am a Panthers fan as I travel the country. Not a single one of them has ever seen him play a down or can tell me anything about his football accomplishments. Every one expressed surprised when I pointed out he leads the team in drops.

He is doing a good job being a character but not a very good job being a football player. I hope that he gets his football ability up to where his marketing ability is.

One look at XL, and I can assume he’s probably a lot harder worker than you and most others. You don’t get his level of athleticism without working extremely hard.

Now, his hands do need some work this offseason. I’m confident he’ll improve them.

So you’re comparing me and others to an NFL player? That’s your argument? The average person isn’t blessed with elite athleticism and genetics. That’s a horrible comparison.

His goofy social media BS only bothers me because he is such a critically flawed football player. I really couldn't give two shits what he is eating out of the woods behind his house.

I mostly give shits about his hands that seem to be slathered in squirrel grease.

dang bro! squirrel grease?!

take it easy on big country. he'll get better. it'll take awhile, but he will.

No. I’m saying it’s clear by looking at him and his lifestyle, he’s not a stranger to hard work. Give him a chance to work on his hands this offseason. I think we’ll be pleased to see his progress.

You’re accusing him of not having his priorities in order bc he hunted and squirrel to eat. C’mon man. That’s ridiculous.

    • When I tell people I was at that game, they usually say oh that’s so cool you had the experience. I call it soul crushing. Why? The weeks and months leading up to it were great, the team was fun to watch every week…some weeks the offense was unstoppable and carried the team (saints and giants road games), other times the defense carried the load (jaguars, tampa). Lots of back and forth games against good teams (Seattle and Indy). Good young players on the team, but the veteran leadership was incredible…from Cam, Olsen, Kalil and J Stew to Luke, TD, Norman, Tillman, Jared Allen, CJ. Role players like Fozzy Whitaker, Cotchery (he caught that MFer), Philly brown, Kyle love, AJ Klein, and so on.  The Friday before the nfc championship my wife and I after a few drinks said let’s see what prices look like for flights/accommodations and we got to talking about how much prices would increase if we waited until we found out if we would be in the big game. We said screw it, we are only out $200 if we have to cancel.  Of course we come out and just pulverized the cardinals in front of the most raucous crowd by far we’ve ever had. We had no idea what we would do for game tickets and then found out a neighbor who worked for the team could get us 2 for face value (each employee got two of their own for free, something cool that JR did).  But then the NFL mafia decided that the storyline of manning going out on top like Elway would give them more goodwill than a non traditional QB who didn’t connect with their target demo and the rest is history. I never have and never will watch that game again. I am just hoping I can see them win one in the 2nd half of my life.
    • Dude you are smart fan. 3 on 0 breakaways won’t matter who is in net. You gotta be better on this one.
    • Raiders are gonna get a good one. Rather have Mendoza fly out and play for the Panthers tomorrow than Bryce
