I don't know why anyone would want to protect those that prey on the innocent while spouting their religious server. Just doesn't make sense to me.

Spouting religion has nothing to do with preying on the innocent being bad. Preying on the innocent is just plain evil, period.

Yikes on that take

Not in the slightest, particularly since I said the general concept is fine.

Let’s be honest, this is just a human thing. Pretty sure evil people are in just about every nook and cranny. The bigger the story, the more we hear about it. I don’t think the Nickelodeon/Hollywood pedos are into religion.

Acting as if the removal of religion would turn this world into a wonderful place is very myopic. I don’t think the Catholoc church has assaulted more children than the weird uncles/awful parents of the world, but it’s easier to attack a single entity.

Saints suck and I hope they get folded.

No real argument here, but that doesn't excuse the behavior. It is certainly like whack-a-mole though.

Yeah, I don't know how anyone wants to be associated with this and risk their reputation.

Not to mention getting players willing to come to the organization. Too many men nowadays know of someone who's been assaulted. I know 3 myself. I'd be hard pressed to take a job at a place I knew supported that kind of thing.

Keeping it to football - as I could go on for ages on this otherwise - this is the type of thing that should be a massive PR nightmare for the NFL. However, I would be surprised if there's any actual consequences to the Saints similar to Bountygate.

Anything that man touches he tarnishes with corruption.  Never before has religion been weaponized and used by political figures as it has been recently.  According to Pew Research center, and I had a discussion with a Methodist minister about this recently, Gen X-Z are disassociating from the church in record numbers.  Those in power or seeking riches on earth use it to manipulate....It is called menticide in some cases--brainwashing.  To see it for what it is, you have to be objective and willing to see what is under the blanket.  Pew says that 50% of the American churches--mostly evangelical, will not exist in 2050.  For the first time ever, American youth value "common sense" (36%) over spirituality (24%) when making ethical decisions.  So no, the church is not above corruption, greed, and manipulation of the masses.  This is not really new--but it is being exploited now like never before.  Because of more access to the media, Children are less likely to be scared into church and forced to believe the dogma as before.  They see the greed, lying, and manipulation.  This is not mocking Jesus or God--this is exposing those who distort images of Jesus and God so that they can rape, rob, and manipulate you to vote one way or another.  This $50 million dollar preacher knows what I am talking about, as did/does Jim Bakker, Catholic priests, Falwell, Swaggart, etc.

I've been on this board for damn near 20 years, and this is one of the most insightful and spot-on posts of all time!

Could not agree more

"This is disgusting," said state Rep. Mandie Landry, D-New Orleans. "As a New Orleans resident, taxpayer and Catholic, it doesn't make any sense to me why the Saints would go to these lengths to protect grown men who raped children. All of them should have been just as horrified at the allegations."

So... when do they sell the team?

    • You bring up a good point on the stability part and i would agree that probably will factor into it. But yes, Tepper does have a strong influence on who stays/goes but I still believe ultimately it'is Morgan, Tilis and Canales who will decide.
    • I can always count on yout to put things so delicately lol. I'm still not sold on the fact that Tepper will make them keep him if they don't see him as a long term answer.
    • holy poo... this thread inspired me to keep trying to guess passwords to various alts I've created over the years and I finally got in! I pretty much accepted my fate as a lurker for the last several months because I could not remember my password. I didn't realize that new users couldn't join either, that explains things. I have been around for years under several different monikers, through the good and bad. I too always find myself coming back here even with all of the new social media options for Panther fan engagement. It's simply nostalgic.   I do get extremely annoyed with the same 5-10 posters shitting on Bryce and complaining about everything. It's unfortunate that half of them are mods and that nobody new can join because now I pretty much just come on here and see Bryce / Panther slander. There is barely any positivity to be had. We all watch this team and hang on this forum for entertainment purposes only. We have no control or say in anything. I used to be such a crazy ass fan that would argue with strangers about Cam newton on the internet and at games. Now, as a father of 3, a business owner and someone with way gnarlier life problems - I like to watch football and talk about football as an escape. Not to bitch more. I really like the direction of the team and will root anyone in a Panthers jersey. I live down the street from the Rams practice facility, Matthew Stafford is currently coaching his daughters flag football team in the same program I coach my sons. I have two highly ranked Rams staff members sons on my team. The way we beat them and had them on the ropes in the playoffs has me feeling amazing, and you would think we have the next great thing in Bryce with the way they all speak of him. I'm gonna ride that high and be a delusional fan, I hope that huddle can stick around or get fixed and perhaps I will get back to posting more now that I can log in again. I will do my best to not get banned. Keep Pounding!
