The Charlotte Observer's Mike Kaye: Panthers Free Agent fits

He just posted an article more about safeties. Mentions Holland, Tre'von Moehrig, Hamlin, and some draft prospects. Hadn't considered the Damar Hamlin connection (we hired the trainer that saved him, hosted an event with the Teppers).

Lock it in, Hamlin becomes a Panther. Double dip and sign Moehrig while we're at it.

I am reading that both Sweat and Williams from the Eagles might command 20 million or more a season so with our cap we have no chance. But if we control the cap this year things ease up if we don't kick too much down the road. But a 4 year contract with a voidable year  gives up 5 years to spread the signing bonus which could be half of his 80 million salary or 40 million which is 8 million cap per year for 5 years. You give him a 1 million dollar salary for a total cap of 9 million this year. The other 40 million gets spread over the 4 years at 10 million each and we can fit it in our cap. You can figure out multiple scenarios to manipulate the numbers, build in roster bonuses, restructure down the road, but if we want him we can figure out a way to pay him. Tepper having all that cash over cap gives us flexibility to do what we want.

We better not be trying to sign 20 million dollar players.  That's insane

    • You honestly think Tampa would have traded down with a division rival so their rival could land a “generational player” at a massive position of need for TB?   bruh
    • Ya'll better quit throwing shots at Zod. He'll come in here and ban everybody. I had a friend @prosource who was banned in 2015 because he said some very minor things about Zod being an ass to the posters on the main forum after starting the All-Pro one. He said he felt like another level is cool, but don't punch down on people that don't want All-Pro. (He did say that it wasn't going to last long anyways.🤔) I distinctly remember him calling and being like "dude, I got banned, my profile says I don't have access to the Huddle!") I feel like once Tepper came in and cut off all unofficial access to the team, Zod was going to be around less. The All-Pro board had really good photos, even in game stuff, and I remember seeing him behind a little fenced in area at Wofford for non team sanctioned press/photographers after Tepper bought the team. I knew then his ego wouldn't allow him to continue with past fervency and effort with that reduction in access. Dude was literally in the locker room when JR was owner.  I came over in 2011 immediately after finding out this place existed. I was super involved with the Charlotte forum, and fell off after its demise. I will never forget arguing Pep over Ryan Sims on that forum! Who is Ryan Sims some of you may ask? My answer is exactly!
    • And not see him running free. Because has been free a lot more than he gets credit for.    Now what XL does with that when he does see the ball, is on him.
