This is the type of guy that scares me. Undersized and was basically a low level rotational guy until finally showing up in a contract year. Hopefully he was just a late bloomer but he looks like the prototype FA bust.

Or you could look at it as player devolment for an Undrafted rookie free agent 🙄

I'd rather pay for future production with 25 year olds than past production

Cool. Just Hella risky. That's all. Hella risky. A lot of guys catch lightening in a bottle for one season and NEVER get close to that kind of production again. Never.

I get the apprehensive approach from some people but these guys we are signing along the DL are all young with their best years ahead of them. I like that we're investing in the trenches.

One thing for sure. Evero won't have any excuses this year. He's getting plenty of help.

Like I said, hopefully he was just a late bloomer but sudden jumps in production in contract years rarely hold up in future years.

feels like a jalan walker/tet type draft

OR, Mykel Williams, Starks/or the kid from SC. If no qbs go in the top 10, which is looking more like a possibility each passing day, there could be a run on defense at the top. Those qb needy teams may wait until round 2 to take a chance on one of these qb's.

seems like a more prudent approach than paying DK 30 million per.  But fug man I hope this doesnt screw up our cap situation, we were so fuging close to having some actual breathing room with no poo deals.  But if a couple of these guys get sideways we have a lot of money on the books

    • I did not want to start or even think about *if* BY reverts back to pre-non last 9 games.   There is a lane in which Panthers are looking QB after this season, I feel its higher than most will realize. I mean....not kidding... has any team ever traded up to 1st overall twice in the teams history? I don't even want to think within 3 years, just foresee Tepper squeezing Dans and Brandts sacs to the point were they are forced to trade up for a another savior.....   The kicker is I feel this way with BY playing good-great..... I think there with be non-fixable problems for contract negotiations between BY&reps vs Panthers org on the whole. You can not pay 50+ million per over few years with 70% guarantees for 3,303 yards 15 TDs and 9 INTs......Cursed I tell you....
    • It's not surprising, but it's still surprising that many of these guys don't manage their money in such a way that provides them and their families a better lifestyle than most for the rest of their lives without even working a nine-to-five. I can't imagine making over a 100 mil for a decade and ultimately ruminating about supporting my family due to financial issues.
    • That why i mentioned the KC dynasty. Those three different playoff loses were not Allens fault, in fact 1-2 plays and Bills win. KC just have better players and better coaches and more luck.  Defense-wise, Bills have been trying to crack the Reid-Halhomes magic. Its near impossible with rules and KC home field advantage. Spags has started to force the league in naming him the best DC in NFL history. I agree if you take away Bill bielacheat.... Add in Andy Reid the best QB coach and brilliant play designer/play-caller, I mean that's too much for one QB to over-come on his own.  Just trolling or not, bad is bad scot. Allen is legit as any one QB has ever been.
