Charlie Campbell Pt. 2

Stewart is a perfect example of a player who's stats don't tell the whole story. He has all the traits for a pro DE. Nobody on that A&M team piled up sacks. Hell, Scourton had only 5 and is also considered a top 20 pick. So it's definitely more potential than production. But far as pressuring the qb production he does it really well. We had nobody that could do that last year,  the sacks will come.

Yea idunno... taking into account that last year we picked a raw WR with only 1 year of solid production and an injured running back with our 2 top 50 picks, surely Dan wouldn't use a top 10 pick on a raw developmental player.

Sadly I can see it happening.

So when he picks Walker, can we stop acting like this guy has inside info on who the Panthers are gonna take

He's nailed the Panthers 1st round picks for like, a decade at this point. Until he's wrong there is no reason to doubt him. I don't want this to be true but Charlie wouldn't change it unless he got a scoop.

Stewart is a perfect athlete that has no idea how to play football.  I hope we aren’t this dumb.

That said if TMac is there I think we take him.

I would like TMac to be the pick, but I’m fine with Stewart. He might not blow us away his rookie year, but he’ll be a really good player for us for a long time.

My nightmare draft scenario is we pass on TMac and the Saints select him and we have to deal with another Mike Evans type WR for the next decade.

5 is more than Stewart had his entire career. LOL

The thing the vast majority of 1st round busts have in common is that they have all the traits for a pro player.

Nick Scourton looks like a better player than Stewart. Watch a game and tell me which one looks like the better player. Stewart's hype is driven by physical measureables only. He is not that good of a football player. Could he learn with the right coaching? Possibly. But that risk is too high with pick #8.

Pick #20+ is more reasonable.

    • I mean the whole defense was trash, he was at least trying. Besides if you put a all-pro among 10 PSers, that all-world will look human. It's very hard to judge very bad units and find the best players among them. Horn and Mjack played well too, there was 0 pass rush and -1777784 run defense.
    • I was looking back and seen Evan Neal has made the switch to OG after awful years at OT.......I wanted him over Icky for his tricep alone..... I was 100% stroud too, I was super pissed about his record setting and playoff leading start......I had arich vastly over the midget BY too. But right now, BY is about the only one on the up&up. The Texans used lots of prime draft capital to help Stroud.  It's still not ready. But if you're honestly about past drafts, these GMs are not alone in making mistakes.  I still feel they should stayed put and allowed Carter to fall in their lap, but best I know Tepper had the worst rage about landing a QB for the past 5 years. The deal is with the correct coaching staff, Baker or darnold would still be here....Baker has signed 3 years for 100 million, which is a great NFL QB contract. Tepper hiring rhule and his shitty Baylor/temple staff was a massive setback given rhule was in control too. Then panic set in an d fitteerererererer had to make a winner and find a QB. Ugh.....I hope they are back...
    • Also maybe the biggest part is his fromer college buddy, Lord Lamar told the GM to sign him. It was done nearly right after and guess who was the first person Alexander met at ravens stadium??
