My one and only mock draft

If that is the case i would think they want a trade back to get Nick.

Then Tepper will drop his patented "It's time" and they will package the two 2nds to trade back up for Princely.

That is probably the ideal scenario in their minds. It could be any random edge/DL they trade back up for tho.

I dont think we take a WR or OT until the 3rd.

I could be way off but the Panthers usually telegraph their moves more than a WWE superstar.

Bech or Noel---I think they also like Trapilo (OT) from BC.  I hope they grab a T, personally, but with BC, they may not feel a sense of urgency

We can find a safety out there in FA or later in the draft.  They will go edge

I have no idea, but that was my opinion a few weeks ago--now i have theorized myself into being alt-draft common sense.

If Walker is gone is there really that much difference in the other 10-15 edge/dl guys?

I do think there is a chance we go edge anyway, but it would take significantly more to trade back up for Emmanwori and I think they really like him.

I mean Morgan came out and said they are open to a move down so maybe you are right.  Move down get safety and the mine the 2nd for a pass rusher.  Kinda cool not to know right now.  B^)

Williams seems like a target if we were to trade back. I think everyone would riot at this point if he was the selection at 8. Im not even sure I have him inside my top 20 players in this draft.

For everyone saying Warren, I don't think he will even end up being TE1 in this draft. Loveland is more talented of the two.

Warren had over 100 receptions as a Tight End on a team that made it to the semi-finals of the playoff. He was the best player on one of the final four best teams.

And if Loveland is better, trade down and take Warren. Both are fine but Warren is a fluid athlete and Loveland is far more stiff in the hips.

If you wanted Bryce to have a Kelci, you would take Warren. I think Bryce would benefit massively from having a tight end like Kelci as well. You’ve seen Mahomes efficiency drop as Kelci has aged. You saw Brady’s efficiency drop when Gronk retired.

If you still think Bryce is a mini-Mahomes, you’ve got to get him a guy he can just scheme up with on the fly.

i'm really just along for the ride. this is a weird draft for me in that i really don't have a dog in the fight. there's no one i love or hate at 8. i'd like for us to trade back and get more picks, but i'll defer to everyone else's "educated" opinions. i'll be happy whoever we get because i think we're in a situation that anyone at any position they are likely to pick will help.

Same. Shemar Stewart is my hate pick and Jalon Walker is my mild preference but mainly just a long for the ride like you said.

Yeah there's no real pick I'd be disappointed in.  There's usually a guy a fair chunk of the fanbase vehemently does not want.  Not really seeing it this year and it's just a really solid talent pool of top-70ish guys this year.  It's just super light at the top.

I don't know, that workout warrior who never had more than a sack and a half in a season and put up the tackle numbers of a rotational two down NT seems like a guy most people should vehemently not want with a top 10 pick.

    • Maybe, but a player can also bust for a lot of reasons.  And I'm not about to go look up the stats of all the 1st round WR busts, but I'd be surprised if they had the sustained output and success in college that T-Mac had.  Those early WR busts are usually guys who had one breakout season and then were highly drafted because of physical potential, not already built out ability. I'm not even saying T-Mac is 100% going to have a better career than Chark (although I obviously think he will). I'm just saying that right now, his skill level and ability is better than Chark's ever was, and I don't understand how anyone is arguing against that, not because of T-Mac, but because of who Chark himself was.   If you want to take the argument that you can't say ANY player who hasn't played a down yet can't be considered better than someone who has, then so be it (even though I'd say that's a dumb stance anyways). At his peak ability, Chark was more like a #3 WR than anything else, he was the definition of a league average WR.  If you don't think a Top 10 selected WR with his tape is better than that just because they haven't played in the NFL yet, then you're just stuck on the "he hasn't played a down yet" idea and can't evaluate them as players and abilities.
    • And you would've probably said the same thing about a lot of highly drafted WRs who busted.
    • dude..........   You are way to emotional here
